This topic contains the track-list for Music for the End 2.0 and its upcoming expansion Encore! Many of your requests have been implemented into Encore! Let me know what you guys think and if there's anything you're excited to see by responding to the discussion topic!
The new Script Manager is now more-or-less complete, and it's a pretty dramatic improvement from the old one in ways both back-end and front-end! Likewise, I've just about finished up the finalized tracklisting for Encore and all of the changes coming to all of the mods' tracklists--tomorrow I'm planning to finish implementing all new tracks and I'll be posting the updated tracklist tomorrow for everyone to see, so you guys can get a taste of what's coming in Encore (and the new Home Labelled update, which will be rolled into Encore!)
You can likely expect 2.0 very soon, as long as you think of 'very soon' as a relative term! We're probably a couple weeks out at most, finally!
Trust me, you guys are gonna' love this shit, I'm just as eager to play with it as you all are!
You may not have the required space for the mod wherever the server is starting. When you first spin up a server, it downloads local copies of the mods it's intended to run. If it can't do this, it will hang forever.
We will release the fix for sound emitters as a standalone offering when 2.0 is ready so that anyone who uses True Music can benefit from it, but 2.0 will include it so that you don't have to download both. Just bear in mind that we have no plans to permanently support True Music or act as custodians for it in its infinite undeath!
Or, to put it in a more human way, we aren't committing to maintaining True Music in any way--this is a hopefully one-time fix!
2.0 also introduces some fixes for True Music in B42. As far as we could tell, True Music B42 has serious problems with sound emitters breaking when you get too far away (so True Music players stop playing music when you get to the distance where the music would start to fade), and we fixed that!
A major upside to the rewrite is that radio stations will now be ad hoc. You can edit them without restarting your world or server, and clients don't have to download a thing from the server. Everything is host-side and realtime!
This is especially good news for servers, where we love the idea of server owners using the dialogue system to provide in-game news and info. This way, you can change your track-listing and dialogue in minutes without forcing players to restart or download anything!
It also means that you will be able to include your own items in our Easter Egg drop pool, among other things!
Plus, every day that the code things take longer, I'm given more time to refine the tracklisting for the upcoming Encore expansion. SO many bangers. We're up to 200 songs in the Main and Extended packs, 250 in the Home Labelled pack which I've been sharpening constantly and replacing songs with songs I'm more passionate about, and a ton of really fun easter egg tracks.
MFTEOTW 2.0 will be WAY worth the wait, trust me!
proceeded to open a cassette horde, gave me an error and didnt drop any cassettes, thought my save was ruined so i started a new save to test, same things happened but now there was an error every second about loot spawns
eventually after so much troubleshooting i found out that the spawn errors were caused by true music radio, but from what i can tell the icon error is from ANY mod that adds icons
this definitely isnt on your guys end since this mod hasnt been updated in a while, it isnt on true music radio either, as that hasnt been updated in months...
i dont know what the hell happened and am posting this here to see if anyone else can verify im not crazy
I'm really excited about Home Labelled in particular. It's my music taste rather than a general vertical slice of music, but I'm getting it refined as hell with some real bangers. I'm confident about including it as part of Encore because it's so good, I want folks to use it!
I can't wait to share 2.0 with y'all, I can't be shy about it, this shit's gonna' kick ass in every way.
No bad news, just lateral news! On the code side of things, we're having to rewrite a major system to accommodate some expandability that we want to make sure people have access to--that is, editing the content of radio stations easily.
I have been working on refining the custom zombies and, more importantly, the track-list! I just keep coming across amazing songs for the upcoming Encore expansion, and I've been heavily tuning Home Labelled to make it as absolutely wall-to-wall packed with bangers as I can. Heads up that Home Labelled will soon become Encore, as Encore will release to its workshop page and absorb Home Labelled as a new branch for Encore.
I can't give any ETAs, it'll probably be a bit with this rewrite, but things are looking great!
what are those about?
Get ready for lods of emone.
Just want to put out an update that work is ongoing. We are carving towards the last bits of our to-do list, though I still can't give any estimates as who knows what bugbears may surprise us in the process. Mostly want to let everyone know that the mod is very much incoming still.
A lot of the work left to do is with our incredibly talented coder, so I have been somewhat more frivolous with my time and have been hard at work adding a lot of classics to the upcoming Encore Expansion. It has ballooned from 190/85/10/40 songs to 200/150/15/50 songs. The Home Labelled branch is now at a hefty 250 as well, up from the mere 99 that it is in the live branch. Lots of bangers in there!
Keep an eye out!
To give you a little insight, a big bugbear we've run into and that we're working through are some issues with the base True Music. B42 seems to have some problems maintaining sound emitters in the way True Music expects, so right now in B42 True Music walking a certain distance from a device playing a song will cut it off entirely instead of beginning to fade it.
The good news is that MFTEOTW will hopefully fix these bugs and make True Music more usable for anyone who installs it--but it is taking us some time.
It could be a great opportunity to keep us all happy while getting valuable feedback.
It's nothing but good news behind the scenes. While we thought we'd be in the compiling and testing phase much sooner than this as you saw of course, the good news is that the mod is now more or less fully in testing and we're ironing out the last kinks.
Things are still well underway and you should expect to hear from us very, very soon.
@klapsu You search for them in the Item List as with any other item. I'm not sure why you'd be having that issue, my apologies.
Consequently, all we can really do is recommend people pick up unofficial re-uploads of the mod. I don't normally support that kind of thing, but obviously these are extenuating circumstances. MFTEOTW will not contain this and will need such a reupload to work.
They're still in testing, but our new traits look like this:
MUSIC ENTHUSIAST (-1)
- 20% chance to find an extra cassette in any relevant container
- 1% chance (on top of normal rates) to find a cache
- Spawn with 10 random cassettes
MUSIC COLLECTOR (-2) (mutually exclusive with above)
- 33% chance for bonus cassette
- 2% chance to find a cache
- Spawn with 15 random cassettes, a blank cassette, and a wearable boombox
- Gain +10 items upon opening any cache!
MUSIC SCAVENGER (-2) (not mutually exclusive)
- 8% chance to find a cassette on any zombie even if Zed Drops is off
- Small increase to finding easter egg items
- +10 items and 1 blank cassette upon opening any cache!
- Spawn with a cassette bag!
I completely agree with you on all fronts. It was just a mistake, and not because I feel especially guilty for not making those deadlines--as you said, this is contractless volunteer work for which only one person has tipped me (and unfortunately that tip is only a fraction of what I spent on this mod!)
All that said, the news is all good behind the scenes. :) No ETA, but you should know that I'm very happy with the pace of work right now and I'm honestly just as excited as everyone else to actually get to play with it!
