To OP, looks great. I like the sleek feel of it. I always try to make something sleek, but by the time weapons conveyors and power plants are put in and covered in armor, it always looks more like my big toe. LOL.

To Q Bird; you can't go supersonic in space engineers because there is not enough matter in space to support a pressure wave (sound). Therefore there is no speed of sound.

Why is everyone commenting on the practicality of a fantasy-themed microbuild?

These look glorious, the triumph isn't in the super utilitarian function of them, it's in making the design work at all as well as look good! They do! They're designed to imitate something that has variable geometry wings!

So to OP from an engineer - Good on you, keep making neat things, and being creative for me, because I lost it a long time ago :)

My first thought on seeing this was someone redid the old Starmax bomber. Nice design.
On the subject of wings, a good engineer makes his craft as versatile and future-proof as possible. Also they act as extended thruster mounts as the farther from your CG a thruster is, the more efficient it will be.

Wow that is cool. very nicely done. and to everyone saying wings are pointless, they aren't in space your going to want your fighters to have wings so that they can enter the atmosphere of a planet, plus wings look cooler than not having wings, their more for aesthetics than actual functionality. one minor thing to improve this to the creator. add some mass blocks to the ship so that you can just line yourself up to a Jump Gate, enter SuperSonic mode turn on the mass blocks turn off Inertia Dampeners then move forward a bit then BOOM max speed in seconds! (Gravity Drive basically but since small ships don't have Gravity Generators a Jump Gate is the best way to do it.)

What's the point of a supersonic mode if you aren't going through any gasses.

I like the interactivity of the wings- very cool looking. Who cares if there's no air in space; you'd want a fighter that could go atmospheric as well. Think Robotech. Plus it's sleeker than just building a Borg cube. But those would stack better in a carrier

i made a better version where there are landing gears that hold the wings,you made a very nice design but the front looks a little weird :P

Those large useless wings are an awefully large target.

Wings need to be reinforced more. Other than that I enjoyed flying this little beast. People enjoyed the design, specifically the folding wings, in the servers I logged onto yesterday. Definitely a thumbs up in my book.
