I realize I never commented on how much I like this mod... Among the merry men, I rather identify myself as Friar Tuck than any other :)
Anyway, great mod. Always on my list.

Something i noticed is, shouldn't he have the peasant trait?

@forever alone
It heals allies and blinds enemies. It works as intended, the tooltip is just weird.
forever alone 14 Dec, 2023 @ 11:02am

@cybvep
Ok the heads should be back. Let me know if any of their heads are still missing.
cybvep 12 Sep, 2023 @ 8:16am
BTW it should also be mentioned that the hero lacks the Mentor skill.

Bertrand the Brigand & the Bowmen of Bergerac. also without a head :steamhappy:
cybvep 6 Sep, 2023 @ 2:15pm
Hi there. I will just report that I got a friar without a head in Alberic's campaign (on a 3d model). May provide a screenshot if necessary.

@Rachel L, slavka
Some of my other mods include the Friar, so if you are using any of the following then you will need to de-activate this mod:
-Bertrand the Brigand & the Bowmen of Bergerac
-Bertrand and the Survivors of Bergerac
-Bertrand and the Survivors of Bergerac -(Mixer Submod)

@Slavka, if you find the mod conflict, let me know, i also have it :p
slavka 13 Apr, 2023 @ 3:15pm
Thank you sir, its a mod conflict. Not a corrupt file... not sure which mod though as I only have a few enabled since the patch
maffers  [author] 13 Apr, 2023 @ 3:11pm
@slavka
It works for me. Sometimes steam will mess up the download. You could try un-subbing from the mod, loading the game's mod manager to make sure it is gone from your list, and then re-subbing to redownload it.

If that doesn't work it could also be other mods causing the crash.

Thats fine, I understand the struggle of mod making.

Hi, dear creator. I am the creator of this:
https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2920743920

At first, i have made a total new file pack, but it consistently crashed the game. After about 20 times of testing and failure, i gave up on it. Then i use this great mod as pattern, then changed stuffs in it. I don't know what i did wrong before so i didn't change the key and ids of my mod. So, my mod and your mod can not work together, sorry, hope you don't mind i use your mod as pattern. Sorry again and thanks for your great works.

Awesome! I will greatly look forward to it then.
maffers  [author] 20 Sep, 2022 @ 1:30pm
@npdejong I am currently working on another mod, but I will get to it soon
npdejong 20 Sep, 2022 @ 11:40am
Good evening!

So I have been playing the Friar for a bit, and I think adding a healing effect from the start, namely the Patch Up ability that I mentioned, would really add make the unit feel complete. Would you consider adding that to this unit in the near future? I'm currently playing a campaign with Bretonnia, and I would love to have them as a field medic kind of support hero alongside his buffs!
npdejong 18 Sep, 2022 @ 1:34pm
@Maffers Thank you :) The boons to their weapon, and especially the Patch Up ability, would really complete them. This way players could bring back wounded units close to the Friar to heal them up, thus giving them their own unique roll within a Bretonnian army and making them worth the army slot even in the late game.
LuminousClarity 18 Sep, 2022 @ 12:52pm
Hello! I made a radious submod of your mod! Thank you for your awesome work! I love hero mods and there aren't enough of them :D https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2864807477
maffers  [author] 18 Sep, 2022 @ 11:32am
@npdejong I will consider those, I think some of them are good ideas
npdejong 18 Sep, 2022 @ 8:52am
If you intend to keep him as a "on foot only" hero, which honestly is more thematic, would you consider adding the suggestions that I mentioned below? The magical attacks (which the warrior priest has as well) and bonus vs large on his weapon, as well as the Patch Up ability (perhaps from the start?), and also that high level skill (level 20?) that gives all peasant units in his embedded army Liquid Fortification?

Honestly, your mod is truly amazing! But I feel that with just these small changes they would be absolutely perfect! And would be the ultimate peasant support unit, and be fine without needing a mount.
npdejong 18 Sep, 2022 @ 8:31am
In addition, perhaps you could give his weapon magical attacks? As well as a bonus vs Large seeing as it is a pike?

And perhaps you could also give them the Patch Up ability that the Empire has? In the past, Friars were often skilled in surgery and the art of healing in the real world, and Patch Up basically states that the surgeon heals nearby troops: https://totalwarwarhammer.fandom.com/wiki/Patch_Up
Benk 18 Sep, 2022 @ 8:19am
Maybe if he end up having a mount, he could have a slow donkey lol.
npdejong 18 Sep, 2022 @ 8:09am
Also, I agree that it is more thematic to make him only a food lord. However, would you consider giving him a high tier skill that grants Liquid Fortification to all Peasant units in his embedded army? That would honestly be very thematic, and not too overpowered seeing as Peasants have low defenses and high model count.
npdejong 18 Sep, 2022 @ 8:03am
This mod looks amazing! I love how you made a hero unit to support the Peasantry.

Is this mod compatible with Lily's mod? https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2858308116&searchtext=peasant
maffers  [author] 16 Sep, 2022 @ 4:17pm
@crcr! I am considering giving him a horse, but for the time being he is meant to be a support unit for infantry. Try having him follow your infantry and mixing him in with them and he will take less damage and be able to keep up.
lwhのsama 16 Sep, 2022 @ 4:55am
he seems too slow,and Bretonnia's army owns too many cavalry knights.He is easy to get alone and defeated by enemy.
lwhのsama 14 Sep, 2022 @ 7:04am
please give him a horse mount so that they can be uesd together with cavalry army?
maffers  [author] 13 Sep, 2022 @ 5:24pm
@Willy El Escocés Thats cool

Hello ! I love to see that someone gives love to Bretonnia! I hope you don't mind, but I made a Spanish translation here: Bretonnian Friar Spanish/Español
roguestates 9 Sep, 2022 @ 2:39am
Can we get a mixu's unlocker compatible version of this mod?
hugoleomarinho 7 Sep, 2022 @ 2:21pm
awesome
Vadaaz 3 Sep, 2022 @ 12:46am
cool :)
maffers  [author] 2 Sep, 2022 @ 6:42pm
@MysticKnight Friars aren't really known for wearing hats, and in fact they mostly just have shaved bald heads with a ring of hair. But maybe I could add a cloak or something
Vadaaz 2 Sep, 2022 @ 2:18pm
Will you give them some new hats to differentiate them further from regular battle pilgrims ?
maffers  [author] 1 Sep, 2022 @ 12:52pm
I have changed the Friar's army assistance agent action from army replenishment to army mobility increase because it was redundant with the Damsel's WH3 update.

Unfortunately if you put any points into the army replenishment skill in the skill tree those points will be lost, and you won't be able to get them back even if you use a respec mod. You can continue with an old save, even if you have a Friar that is already using the army replenishment agent action in an army, but just minus the skill points. New Friars won't lose any points and should work normally.

Sorry about the inconvenience.
maffers  [author] 30 Aug, 2022 @ 3:33pm
@AugustDrake Thanks! I'm still working on updating my Brigands mod. The way textures are handled in WH3 has changed so I have to re-edit each texture and it is taking a while. I finished the Faceless and now I'm working on the brigands.
AugustDrake 30 Aug, 2022 @ 1:16pm
I loved this mod and your Brigands mod for WHIII; they were practically essential. Herrimaults were so much fun. Very much looking forward to getting Faceless again.

I usually ran these mods with Lily's Overhaul as well and it made for a great experience
maffers  [author] 26 Aug, 2022 @ 1:07pm
@The Hellblazer I will consider changing it
The Renegade 26 Aug, 2022 @ 12:54pm
Any chance of changing the replenish troops skill since Damsels do that by default now?
Benk 26 Aug, 2022 @ 10:38am
@maffers Yes it's just that since the first one, i use resize unit mods especially total unit resize for exemple ( even if it's not ported here yet it seem.)
Mon'Keigh Chirurgeon 50A 26 Aug, 2022 @ 10:35am
Ah, I see. No wonder it seems familiar!
maffers  [author] 26 Aug, 2022 @ 10:26am
@Benk They are the same default size as other heroes in the base game.
maffers  [author] 26 Aug, 2022 @ 10:25am
@Sor Hugh Thats what I am planning on doing next. I have a mod from WH2 that I'm updating for WH3. I will probably have a mod available later today or tomorrow probably.
maffers  [author] 26 Aug, 2022 @ 10:23am
@Mon'Keigh Chirurgeon 50A This is the Warhammer 3 version of my Warhammer 2 mod that is more or less the same.
Albedo 26 Aug, 2022 @ 6:58am
Excellent, thanks for the port. A Bretonnian should have a horse though ;)
