It starts out strong and I really wanted to love this one. Ammo in the right places, instead of wherever. Voice-acting and use of AI voicing (which needed to have some pauses, but otherwise interesting). So, there's a story and everything.
Ultimately though, it boils down to enemy management. Some of encounters are such bullshit that it's more or less seeing them, dying, reloading, rinse and repeat until you get lucky enough to save again. That's not a fun game. It's bullshit.
I have just made a larger update to fix some issues and round it up a bit.
Combine fights should feel more intense, gave it more hints and the card is easier to find.
Enjoy and take it easy

Hard combat, but gotta give you props for Jeff, even if it came out of nowhere in a somewhat serious story. I really enjoyed it.
The combine you cannot see is the one at the top on last room.
Thanks for the map!
I had the same issue as vincent_g where the elevator would go up but not down, had to use dev teleport to finish the map. No issues other than that. Jeff with a minigun is terrifying XD
Maybe a reboot fixed the problem?
The rotating fan blade from Half Life was a nice touch.
Anyway here's my play-through ----> https://youtu.be/H9DnHuJI5Z8

You mentioned the building with the smashed window, I recall I tried to get inside but I found no way to do so.
:(
The building with the smashed window, carry something there so you can get to the window.
Remove the glass so you can go through comfortably and very important take your head down
Thanks for your honest feedback. I really much appreciate that.
The last part, the "Combine facility" is a challenge and it confuses.
Asymmetric architecture, blinding textures, almost no light, sparse cover,
Combine melt in and are almost invisible in black & white
This is absolutely not for the avg. player (tagged it Hardcore)
Well, you are Detective Alyx Vance - The best out there
Thanks again and I am glad you found at least the first part enjoyable.
I just thought it was a oversight and loaded a save.
Up until getting to this room it was fine.
Get the crowbar break the box and jump in.
But it's all downhill from there.
The glass covering the SMG makes it very hard to get the SMG as broken glass covers it and you would have to first remove the glass to pick it up or grab it with gravity gloves.
Getting the extra ammo on the left is also not easy but it's ok.
The case where the smg is seems to allow enemy fire to pass through it as having bent down to try to look at other side it was hit by gun fire. An unpleasant surprise.
Things like this causes players to walk away from it which would be a shame as I found it very good.
I liked the use of the spinning blade from Half Life - very nice touch.
It's nice to record a new one cold as you wind up getting my first impressions of it.
How I fell through it the first time is I stepped away from the side with the button thinking i may hit the floor above if I'm too close to the edge.
The second time I again move back and the elevator went up without me while I was standing in the middle of the platform
You can bring it down with the button on the other side of the pillar
I wind up falling through it and once it goes up there is no bringing it down
