I used to have the German, British and American insignia mods made by RoccatRene but he does'nt update them anymore. I find them alot easier to see since my eyes don't work that well anymore. I just hope someone takes over those mods in the future and updates them again.

@Milan [BE] Yes, that is the purpose of the mod as the mod's title suggests. I know the description is long but it mentions army icons. The original mod had army group icons but I think they were all just division icons and I didn't agree with the original author's idea of using division icons for armies. The icons somehow also caused a bug with the NSB tank designer, I don't know how but when I deleted them the bug was fixed. If you want army icons I suggest using the mod linked above, I actually just changed out the URL for the updated version as I don't use it myself so wasn't aware the original one is broken now

Marine-Infanterie-Division, it was formed Feb '45, in a pretty improvised way, so I don't think they ever had time to actually produce one. Marine-Schützen-Brigade Nord that it was formed from don't appear to have had one either.

@QueerDoom I've thought of returning to the mod to add more foreign volunteer icons and a limited amount for the other ideologies. If I get back into these mods I really should finish my American one first as I promised, maybe I'll do that tomorrow. After that I could add those, I've had a couple other requests as well. For the Kriegsmarine I could maybe add a couple representing them in the first part of the list but reordering that whole thing is kind of a pain in the ass. I would also be willing to add a logo for 1. Marine-Infanterie-Division if a logo can be identified

It's so weird. I cannot find it anywhere. It doesn't appear to be real. Thanks for making the mod. Being able to personalise the divisions makes playing it much more fun in my nerdy opinion. If you ever have the time/inclination, it would be great to have a Kriegsmarine, and Führer Begleit Division and Führer Grenadier Division decals.

@QueerDoom That was the work of the original mod author so I have literally no idea either, lol. To me it looks almost Finnish. Anyway I actually made this mod specifically to add Wehrmacht division icons for more "apolitical" ones in big quotes, kinda bothered me that German Division Icons was just SS divisions and every kind of swastika you could want

Can someone who knows please tell me what the green decal with the swastika is? The one next to the standard red with black swastika decal. I cannot for the life of me find what it is.

@konstantin I don't plan on doing more in the future but ahistorical ones are already in the mod have been since I put the mod up 3 years ago. I was also building off of the work of the original mod's uploader who did the same, the point of this mod was to expand the choice of fictional SS and include the Wehrmacht but some of the fictional ones were his work. If you want to know which ones are real you can just google it, there are lists of them

If you are going to make fictional SS divisions in the future, maybe you could make it a submod instead. Because i don't want to confuse real SS divisions with fictional ones. Thank you.

Hello, I have the problem when I have the mod activated I still can't see the icons in the division menu

@路途的学生 When I first made the mod I would have considered adding it. I know about the division and I've seen the icon, it even looks much like the 22nd and 23rd Panzer Divisions. However I decided not to include it because it never really existed. It only had a fraction of the elements of a full division and it seems to have never fought together as one unit, but scattered around. I might decide to add it now but if I do it's just gonna be at the end of the list, I don't want to go through the trouble of reordering most of the files for it

you can't add the emblem of the 27th Armored Division of the German Defence Force . AN arrow diagonally to the upper right, with three short bars at the tail and yellow as the main color. very thankful

@Gudilla As for the size of the symbols, I do agree but also I opposed changing the UI to make larger on-map icons because I feel they clutter the map too bad and wouldn't be as broadly popular as a simple dump of icons to choose from. Personally I only use a few at a time to represent each type of division when I play anyway rather than making them for each division like my screenshot, which was just meant as an example anyway, though I do make a custom template for Großdeutschland as they had a unique structure IRL anyway. Hope that clears some things up, sorry for being long

@Gudilla The repeat icons are usually due to the fact that many German divisions, especially armored, PzGren and etc were not raised fresh but formed from existing divisions. For example take the 16. Infanterie-Div. It was split in 1940 to create the 16. Panzer-Div which had a new icon and the 16. Infanterie-Div. (mot.) which retained the old icon. This division was later upgraded to the 16. Panzergrenadier-Div and finally the 116. Panzer-Division, a unit which is fairly well known and its greyhound icon is a bit iconic, yet that icon can be also applied to the 3 divisions that came before it. I've even added multiple icons for the same division in different forms a few times (52. Inf and 52. Division zbV). Gonna have to blame the Wehrmacht for that.

@InsaneWorld After I left a comment here, I went online and studied the emblems of the Wehrmacht divisions a bit. And what I realized, for example, the same emblem could belong to both an infantry, artillery regiment, and a grenadier (panzergrenadier). At the same time, the division could be a tank division.
Although the division symbols in the game look beautiful, they are practically unreadable on the global map.
Primitive yellow emblems look good. In general, color differentiation would be beneficial, as well as simplification of forms, to the detriment of historicity, of course. But this is my personal opinion.

@Riekopo No, division icon mods can't be combined at all or they break each other. It may not even be possible to patch, and if it is it would need a separate upload.

Does this work with the More Division Icons [Updated] mod?

@Gudilla I was intending to make a guide but never got around to it. To give you a rough guide the icons in the first screenshot after the SS divisions are Panzer Divisions 1-26, 116, Lehr, Feldherrnhalle, and Müncheberg. After that is the PzGren Divs, Großdeutschland, all Fallschirmjäger Divs and after that is mostly various infantry divisions with some more special ones sprinkled in like the Gebirgs divisions. I'll consider making a proper icon by icon guide at some point for all of them.

@想想就烦 It is up to date, I even checked to make sure, so maybe it needs to update on your end. I'm also having trouble being able to update my mods due to a reinstallation I had to do to fix my game so I need to get that sorted before I can do further updates anyway.

Where can I see the description of the divisions presented in this mod? To roughly understand what applies to infantry, what applies to tank troops, etc.

@lincortv I don't even know what you mean by more_division_icons, there's not anything called that in the interface folder. In the interface folder you make a folder called counters and then inside that you make two folders division_icons_large and division_icons_small that you then place the corresponding icons in. If you don't follow that then the mod is likely to not work because that's how its structured in the game files. Just look at my mod's files

hello, I really liked your mod, and I decided to make some more division icons on this topic. I would like to combine my brainchild with yours, since without your icons it is not possible for me to add my own because mine cover yours and it is not possible to move them beyond your icons, so I decided to share my work with by you, if you don't mind, of course.

@firedevlin The whole template must be changed, like the screenshot above. Those are all templates for divisions. Of course I don't expect people to actually do that for each division, the icons can be used for many purposes even for non German divisions in many cases. When I use the mod I like to have the 1. Fallschirm logo as the paratrooper icon, a security division icon for garrison template and etc. It could make sense for some divisions to have unique templates though like Großdeutschland since they had a unique structure, and I like to do that for them

I think I was looking at it wrong. I didn't realize you had to click on the icon and then choose a new one. I see them now. BUT, is there a way to get each division to be unique? All I can see to do is change the entire templates icon? Thanks.

@firedevlin I'm not sure why that would be happening, I suppose try clearing cache but that's all I can suggest off the top of my head. I don't think it's an update thing since no icons would have been added in vanilla after 1.15 was first put out. Sorry I can't help more but I just don't know what it could be based on that

Cant get it to work even when I load it as the only mod. All DLC.

@CoLdFlaMe Yeah I forgot to mention that but division icon mods can't be combined at all while having them both fully working, it's gotta be one at a time. If I get around to making more of my planned division icon mods they're gonna be combined into one big mod in case people want several nations at once like for MP.

It works for me now. I had another Icon Mod wich is not compatible with this mod I guess :)
