Hey Iron.
Must admit i havent touched Baro in some years.
https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2934543372

Check out if this works. its same concept since the docking port movement all designed by him basically.....and lol lot cleaner than mine :D

its wireless but again same concept.

You can also check my Manta ray ship. Since it has a more refined version than is in the demo.
And a door circuit and stuff as well. And its an actual practical example....Also if that one dont work let me know and i might have to come back and fix it >.<

Seems to be broken in the current version(1.9.7.0); everything floods immediately.
Frostilicus 1 Jun @ 2:09pm
That worked! Thanks so much, I had almost given up entirely.
ChamParis 1 Jun @ 12:09pm
all you need to do to prevent that is force the docking direction on your docking ports
Frostilicus 1 Jun @ 11:53am
This works great but for some reason campaign mode seems to spawn the elevator in a totally wrong place. It could certainly be a mistake on my end but just thought you should know

When shuttle is docking to your sub it moves a little to attach to an airlock, so elevator is basically an separate sub that's moving between the docking points
obama 1 Jan @ 4:49am
what is the basic mechanism behind this? i dont understand how it works, why does it move
nukechicken64 22 Oct, 2023 @ 4:07pm
no i just missed the part that there cant be ANY collidables in the path of the elevator, it apparently makes it think its somewhere its not
Psyduck  [author] 22 Oct, 2023 @ 12:38pm
You need to set the activator button whatever to send a signal to match the last port.

See the buttons on the demo and just replace the port number with highest port you got setup
nukechicken64 22 Oct, 2023 @ 11:32am
i am trying to make an elevator with 6 floors but it only moves through 3 of the floors, i correctly expanded the rail as noted in the example, is there something else im supposed to change?
Psyduck  [author] 22 Jun, 2023 @ 1:45am
No clue. Dont use mods and i will never use mods for something i can do Vanilla.
ReiTheTrap 21 Jun, 2023 @ 11:25pm
how about EK dockyard rail docking things? will it be easier to use them?
ChamParis 6 Jun, 2023 @ 1:08pm
Okay, though I dont think I can quite replicate the docking ports you made on the side, but this one should do the job. Im making sliding unmanned weapon pods, allowing me to have only 2 guns total, ideally I just want them to be reloadable without diving out, i could do like you did with the sliding racks inside the sub, but it does not look like a good solution here. Thanks for humouring me.
Psyduck  [author] 6 Jun, 2023 @ 11:55am
logic in manta ray is no different that this one really.
And not a chance :P

https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2934543372&searchtext=elevator

besides this guy already made a clean version of manta ray elevator . His is wired but essentially its my manta ray elevator isolated. Same logic as well just wired version
ChamParis 6 Jun, 2023 @ 10:07am
Well I would also like it to properly dock, so Id rather use the manta's, though I cant seem to isolate the elevator itself to scrap it. Could you please post it separately ?
Psyduck  [author] 6 Jun, 2023 @ 9:58am
sure just use vertical docking ports technical you can even make turns and curves with it.
See my yggdrasil ship for example of curves....think its in the videos as well
ChamParis 6 Jun, 2023 @ 7:13am
do you think this could go horizontal ? I'd like two gun pods on an external rail, better coverage without more than two guns total.
ChamParis 7 May, 2023 @ 2:34am
No worries, it is enough for my purposes.
Psyduck  [author] 6 May, 2023 @ 2:18pm
https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2934543372&searchtext=elevator

Some guy made this.

And its technical a isolated wired version of manta ray elevator.
Psyduck  [author] 6 May, 2023 @ 2:14pm
No. Manta ray elevator is only one sided and switches between horizontal docking ports and vertical ones. And on that account actually docks as intended on each stop and hence floods as intended.

Where this elevator exploits a bug that means that you can cross humans over hulls that share same pixel. And the fact that docking ports will move any force trough any object. Even 2 hulls

the one sided elevator is simpler and better really. There technical is a way to make 2 sided elevators that would flood as well using 2 shuttles as the elevator.
But its not been done in practice yet.
ChamParis 6 May, 2023 @ 1:58pm
is it not pretty much the same thing ? And it works, the one little quirk it has is in the theme of my gritty diesel freighter.
Psyduck  [author] 6 May, 2023 @ 12:52pm
You might wanna check out elevator in manta ray its better really >.<
ChamParis 6 May, 2023 @ 12:50pm
There we go ! It's working almost perfectly and perfectly fits my new cargo sub. Can't thank you enough for this contraption !
ChamParis 6 May, 2023 @ 11:33am
its taking its toll on my sanity, but slowly, ever so slowly, I'm ironing out the kinks. Little question, if I slightly move one of the docking ports compared to the others, does this always lead to disaster ?
Psyduck  [author] 22 Apr, 2023 @ 1:12pm
aww thanks fox :D you make me consider updating it :steammocking:
Blakfox 22 Apr, 2023 @ 3:12am
This is a great guide and demo for something that radically changes sub building
Lionel23 9 Nov, 2022 @ 11:35am
Wow, this is some amazing stuff, going through your Youtube channel and saw some of the cool things you did! I sent a friend invite, mind if I ask some questions on this?
Vivian Bunny 25 Sep, 2022 @ 12:03pm
I've used ballast moving parts for a large hatch for my drone on my sub. I can confirm that this is far more stable and it's an added bonus that it pushes the sub because my door would get stuck if the sub was on the floor since it opened downwards.
Psyduck  [author] 25 Sep, 2022 @ 7:14am
yea moving part system would be sweet!
cant help too think of kerbal as a good example!
But at least this is fairly simple and very stable in comparison to ballast moving parts!
Vivian Bunny 24 Sep, 2022 @ 1:34pm
This is amazing technology. I do hope the devs add a proper mechanical movement system into the game sometime in the future though. For the time being this is going to be my go to method for moving parts!
Psyduck  [author] 21 Aug, 2022 @ 9:30am
Thanks!
Tem黄 21 Aug, 2022 @ 12:09am
Really awesome work:steamthumbsup:
Psyduck  [author] 17 Aug, 2022 @ 6:06am
Lol well get it! :D
Arysto 16 Aug, 2022 @ 10:39pm
What the hell? That is some serious shuttle technology.
I need it!
