Does this have a crafting recipe? or can you only get it through spawning it in?
Greenjack 25 maj @ 0:12
heyo Monkey i just came around this mod https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2877484605&searchtext=item+gps (Item GPS) and then this zed sensor mod of yours, so it just hit me, what about making something like that GPS that scan zeds and emits a sound when are nearby OR (with sandbox customization) a zed radar that shows zeds around like Erin minimap?

WARNING: if you modify the files to play this on B42, it'll make cars totally break so you can't see their HUD.

i made a radio and i'm able to operate it, toggle it on or off and there's a sound cue to indicate that it's functional but it doesn't seem to play any audio when near a zombie, i could be right behind one and nothing. do i need to set it to a certain frequency? any help would be appreciated
Monkey  [skapare] 2 maj, 2024 @ 7:25
I will redo this when B42 drops. This is one of my first mods and it's very badly written. Will rework it with sandbox options so it's all configurable.

I gotta second what the prior comment is saying. The range seems far too short and the only time I ever hear it going off is when a zombie is right next to me or through a wall. And I even have the in-game music disabled!
Silent Hill's radios have maybe a 20-30ft detection range at most, and at the least able to very clearly hear it going off if something was on the opposite end of a large room.
Khazul 26 feb, 2024 @ 16:11
I've tried the mod since I'm going to do a SH run and I could have 2 ways to improve it :

- Putting the static sound louder, because you can't always hear it clearly with the music.

- Increase the range of detection, so the sound could start low, then louder if Z are getting closer.

Actually, the range is so low that you know when Z are on you and it's useful only in interiors or in fog.

Or at least, being able to change range and sound into a menu ingame, or when creating the game ?

Trombonaught 24 sep, 2023 @ 0:16
This is so cool, thanks for bringing more Silent Hill-ness into the game
Batman-[FR] 25 aug, 2023 @ 5:37
Hi @Monkey,
Many thanks for your works !

i've made a little patch version for including different sounds depends on distance from zombie (like Alien movie ;))
The PZmod framework can't use the SetPitch from Fomod :'( so i split 3 sounds (close, medium and far) and i use the intensity for selecting the correct sound.
Like this :

function SilentHillRadioSoundPlayer:SetIntensity(intensity)
soundFile = 'motion-tracker-beep';
if intensity >= 0.20 and intensity <= 0.50 then
soundFile = 'motion-tracker-beep-fast';
elseif intensity > 0.50 then
soundFile = 'motion-tracker-beep-very-fast';
end
end

contact me at cyberbobjr[at]yahoo[dot]com if you want to get the full modification.
best regards
Nihi ^.^ 31 jul, 2023 @ 11:49
colored outline is gone whenever I activate the radio.
Nandi 23 jun, 2023 @ 6:22
Any chance you can make this thing go "beep beep beep" like the Aliens tracker?
Mutante de uma Figa 25 mar, 2023 @ 10:25
One of my most beloved mods. Thank you for existing.
ninjawizard 25 feb, 2023 @ 21:23
this is really something... i was looking at your lua coding, specially the redux and utils files, man lol crazy lua skills... i allways wanted a zombie detector on my mod but never could code it :(
i wanted a more simple one thou, just a regular Item->When equiped on Hand-> fire function, event on player update, just beep sound 1 if its 5m, sound if its 6,10m, and such
Lord Yeetus Weldus 19 feb, 2023 @ 15:08
how does one get the recipe to make it?
TTVbadluckbiggs 24 jan, 2023 @ 23:32
can other players hear the radio if they are in proximity? and can this be placed as a furniture item like the other radios and function when placed?
goobertron 28 dec, 2022 @ 9:58
hey I don't really know how to make it can someone tell me
Мёнин 21 nov, 2022 @ 21:21
Oh f u, that zombie is scared me.:steamthumbsup:
Murk- 7 nov, 2022 @ 10:53
Will this work existing saves by any chance?
Mando 20 okt, 2022 @ 14:47
I've been using it well
Since yesterday, the Zombie Detector Assembly feature has been lost and cannot be used
Zadd 16 okt, 2022 @ 21:53
So I died, respawned, and came back to my body and now the radio doesnt make any sound. I even made a new one and still nothing. Worked before, has batteries and is turned on attached to me (Tried it with holding it too still nothing). what's going on?
Mando 14 okt, 2022 @ 12:02
I really like it mod Thank you : )
diggy 13 okt, 2022 @ 5:23
for sure, ty for the help
Monkey  [skapare] 13 okt, 2022 @ 0:43
Nah I won't do that, but you can do it manually by copying over the file from the radio mod into the trait mod and renamining the ogg file the same way.
diggy 12 okt, 2022 @ 21:14
Ooh sick, any chance of an option that replaces the heartbeat with the Silent Hill radio sound?
Monkey  [skapare] 12 okt, 2022 @ 13:41
Yep I got another mod in my workshop that does exactly that. Enjoy!
diggy 12 okt, 2022 @ 11:41
Can you add a trait that gives you the sounds without the radio?
buhdonkadonk 29 sep, 2022 @ 16:48
This is working on MP for me, be sure to install the required dependency Monkey'sLibrary because Steam didn't warn me about it: https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2846989295
ZDKmatthew 15 sep, 2022 @ 16:36
could you please create a silent hill 2 and 3 sound version? thanks you
UrbanLegend(월화) 13 sep, 2022 @ 17:33
Thank you!!:steamhappy:
Monkey  [skapare] 13 sep, 2022 @ 14:51
Oh then no, it shouldn't have any difference.
UrbanLegend(월화) 13 sep, 2022 @ 4:38
@monkey, will there be any difference in performance between toy radios and military radios when converted into experimental radios? That's what I'm wondering. :-)
Monkey  [skapare] 13 sep, 2022 @ 0:37
@UrbanLegend, it has to be an Experimental Radio, which you can either craft or convert an existing one. You need a magazine called "Strange Radio Schematics" to unlock the recipe.
UrbanLegend(월화) 12 sep, 2022 @ 18:36
There are various radios(walkie talkie) in this game. Does the performance of the zombie detector differ depending on the type of radio?
LyraLux 5 sep, 2022 @ 14:18
You're welcome! And don't worry, it happens lol. Thank you for reading my suggestion, and I'm loving these mods of yours!

I'm currently testing how they work in the base-game CDDA scenario, since the pre-set game scenarios don't allow sandboxes for configuration. So far, The Darkness just hit my survivor, Royalie Feckt, a few days in to CDDA. I'm sure there won't be any serious issues, she just... uh... needs to go outside and get some food. Just... go.. outside... yep! So easy to do and not suddenly scary at all. >_>;
Monkey  [skapare] 5 sep, 2022 @ 0:58
Now that you pointed this out, I facepalmed lmao Idk why i did it like that. I'm currently working on some fixes of my other mod which have a bit higher priority, but I'll definitely add this to my list. Thanks!
LyraLux 4 sep, 2022 @ 20:38
Great mod, but just a tiny suggestion: Usually green = good, yellow = okay, red =low, and grey/white = empty. Would you consider changing or swapping the colors of "full, medium, and low" around for easier readability? Its the most common and easy to understand color scale in games like this and I keep getting confused. I can't be the only one ^ ^;
Monkey  [skapare] 30 aug, 2022 @ 0:08
@Spunky haven't been able to reproduce this issue, atleast on singleplayer.
Monkey  [skapare] 29 aug, 2022 @ 23:58
@SrWonejo yeah that's definitely not caused by my mod. You probably have another mod that's breaking the radios.
Spunky McGoo™ 29 aug, 2022 @ 21:20
UNLESS I have it equipped when i turn it off via UI widget
Spunky McGoo™ 29 aug, 2022 @ 21:18
It seems to remain on and draining battery even if it's "off" according to the UI and not making noise.
SrWonejo 29 aug, 2022 @ 17:51
What happens is that it doesn't let me put the batteries in either XD
Monkey  [skapare] 29 aug, 2022 @ 13:49
The mod works. If you don't have the UI icon on the top left, you're doing something wrong.
Monkey  [skapare] 29 aug, 2022 @ 13:47
You probably don't have the Experimental Walkie Talkie in your inventory, with batteries.
SrWonejo 29 aug, 2022 @ 12:59
La radio no funciona, no me sale la opcion de prender o apagan la radio, tampoco cuando entro a las opciones del dispositivo me prende.
Monkey  [skapare] 24 aug, 2022 @ 0:16
That should be the expected behaviour unless there's a bug.
