Food Poisoning Stack Fix (Continued)

@Colley A meal gets tainted when made, so its the creation of them that is the test. Removing mods from an existing save can cause other issues or even make the save not loadable so a new game is needed for each test.
Doing the testing with the binary method, a conflict in a list of 800 mods can be found in under ten game starts.
Colley 26 Aug @ 10:48am
Okay, I'll see what I can do. Based on your knowledge of the mod, do you think in reproducing the bug, the meals need to be created from scratch for each test or can a save be reloaded for villagers eating from a tainted stack? Knowing that would save a lot of time in testing for this.
Mlie  [author] 26 Aug @ 10:39am
@Colley The first step listed is to verify with only this mod loaded. If you do not get the issue, it is due to some conflict with another mod. If you can pinpoint what other mod in your list causes it, I can take a look.
If you can recreate the issue with only this mod loaded, you can share the log of this and Ill have something to work from

It's unlikely that this issue is actually small based on the comments here going back months. At a minimum, it appears to be a common. Apologies if my previous comment was abrasive; here is the log. I am not familiar with troubleshooting this game's mods in particular so hopefully this is what you were wanting.
Mlie  [author] 25 Aug @ 11:54pm
@Colley The amount of reports compared to the amount of subscribers makes your issue a very small one.
For some reason, those that has the issue are also the ones refusing to do any type of bug-report or any work of their own trying to find the cause of their issue. Some would define this as pretty entitled behaviour.
Colley 25 Aug @ 11:47pm
This mod is definitely not functioning correctly. My dudes are just all getting food poisoning with every meal and puking all over the place even though the chef is experienced. No I'm not gonna bother posting logs because this is clearly an extremely common issue based on the comments here. Will just delete the mod and I don't recommend installing until an update is made.
Mlie  [author] 23 Aug @ 1:46pm
@Yooooyyy It affects meals, not pawns. So does not matter what pawn eats it
Yooooyyy 23 Aug @ 1:44pm
@Mile Does the fix work on animals as well?

I'm having major issues since adding this mod that has just been flooding my saves with food poisoning, no matter the level of skill of the cooks, it always says that its due to incompetent cooks. Anyway, just a warning.
Aye Harambe 22 Aug @ 10:56pm
I'm just getting absolutely hammered with food poisoning waves. Something I have in my mods must be messing with this. It's actually unmanageable at this point; I may just have to start over.
HeshieokFasla 19 Aug @ 12:17pm
Does this work on packaged survival meals?
Aye Harambe 18 Aug @ 8:02pm
Is there a console command or something I can use to check the poison chance for meals that have been made? All my cooks are level 20 and cook in sterile rooms, but I just had half my colony get food poisoning and I'm trying to figure our what's going on here.
Mlie  [author] 17 Aug @ 11:24am
@Zairya I doubt that this mod had or has any impact on performance at all as these calculations are run very rarely
Zairya 17 Aug @ 11:20am
With the performance overhaul, how does this mod fare? reading
"[...] and reworked it so that the number of poisoned meals in a stack is tracked, and when meals are picked up, there is a proper chance of picking up the tainted one(s)."
is putting me off as I use OgreStack to increase stack size. Or is this incompatible with stack manipulating mods to begin with?
amefurashi 8 Aug @ 7:52pm
What Mlie says makes sense.
The only way to know exactly what's going on with someone else's computer is to get as detailed a report as possible, or to become that person, or to become a hacker whose hobby is spying on other people's computers.
Captain Chaos 7 Aug @ 8:08pm
It is literally a braindead effort required to submit a hugslib log, this Moon dude is just farming braindead rage
Mlie  [author] 6 Aug @ 1:49pm
@MoonRyze This mod has ~150k subscribers. If all those users had issues with food poisoning due to this mod, I would think that someone of them would be able to do the 3 (not 12) steps described above. So far I havent seen even a link to a HugsLib log, something considered the most basic of any bug-report in this community.
If you are having trouble understanding the jargon in the steps described, perhaps you could reply with the difficult words and Ill do my best to explain them.
Either way, just posting "broken mod" gives me no new info and just shows how little you care about the hard work you say I do.
Templar Fry 6 Aug @ 1:42pm
Broken comment
MoonRyze 6 Aug @ 1:41pm
Listen dude, I'm all for defending modders, y'all do hard work for free.

But responding with your attitude in the whole thread and asking people to take a 12 steps procedure to report a bug in jargon that no one understand except other moders is not helping anyone either. My current playthrough almost got nuked after 10 hours of gameplay because of a immense food poisoning wave. That's wasted time for me and for several people in this thread in which you answer in the most adolescent attitude driven manner.

If one single moron tell you your mod is broken sure whatever, this whole thread is full of people telling you the mod obviously has issues and you're pretty much telling them to fk off.

Take a break from modding maybe

Broken mod
Mlie  [author] 5 Aug @ 10:13am
@i-ko No
i-ko 5 Aug @ 10:09am
Simple question : does this mod apply also to metal horror infected food?
Templar Fry 4 Aug @ 2:50pm
Just to state in defense of Mlie and modders. They usually respond if you have a log or crash report also if you have an issue and don't post it in the right discord. Honestly that person shouldn't feel right complaining. Mod devs do a lot of free work and often/most times it's per client side with their absurd modlists. One size doesn't fit all sadly with modding.
DragonZephyr 4 Aug @ 11:21am
If you intend to subscribing it may be best to try this on a fresh save because if you use very large storages with contaminated meals the mod might presume they all were. Then it may take a long time to RNG out all of them resulting in a massive wave of food poisoning, that may take many ingame days. Even if this mod works correctly it can't know the past on stacked meals before it was installed.
DragonZephyr 4 Aug @ 11:21am
You have 1.2k repos on github and i dont think users are going to join a discord to report errors frequently (they are frustrated its just unlikely with how people behave). I clicked around that impressive list of mods you are trying to maintain and it took a while to even find one that had any issue listed.
I have to be honest, i don't think you can change how people will behave to report issues, most don't have a git account and there will definetly be apathy to try and join a discord to get help even though i do think you'd probably do your best to do it then.
It would be better if steam provided a better user to mod-developer interface for reporting issues but until then this will be war of attrition on human behaviour i don't think you will win.
Atleast thats my 2 cents, im sure with 150k subscribers there would be more people affected if it was widespread.
Templar Fry 1 Aug @ 10:36am
@Natashalie you can set food poisoning chance to zero with other mods or you could dev mod spawn in food meals back in after deleting them. There are fixes for this small issue in the meantime JS.
Mlie  [author] 1 Aug @ 10:09am
@Natashalie Please see the Reporting Issues section described above
Natashalie 1 Aug @ 10:01am
Installed this mod and pretty much lost my save to food poisoning. Broken.
Templar Fry 30 Jul @ 9:58am
I will say it's nice when trying to find problems with modlists when the comments are open and people do just post issues like this. I can see how it would be annoying for devs but it is nice for some of us. So thank you for leaving it open like this Mlie. You guys need to provide logs though. Even seeing just the modlist you used will pinpoint for devs which mods are incompatible as for example this mod only touches food and stacks.
ailailou-fi 29 Jul @ 8:19am
I wish I had a set of logs or something to help out with debugging, but I had the same issue with my pawns suddenly getting poisoned constantly for days until: I disabled the mod, then flushed out all existing cooked meals.
The Bard of Hearts 25 Jul @ 2:16am
@Mlie, honest question. Does this mod work for modded in foods? Because I got a stack of dried meat that everyone keeps getting sick off of continually.
Florida Man 25 Jul @ 2:03am
Had constant food poisoning, removing just this mod and flushing all my meals with new meals solved the issue.
Twink Annihilator 23 Jul @ 5:00pm
Its been working for me the entire time, I believe they just have a mod incompatibility
Mlie  [author] 23 Jul @ 7:11am
@Elkstone And yet noone wants it to work enough to even look at the steps required for doing a report.
Elkstone 23 Jul @ 6:49am
I mean I see one person saying it's broke then I don't mind it, but if multiple people say it's broke then I know it's broke. That's the point of them
Mlie  [author] 22 Jul @ 10:49pm
Please stop posting pointless repeats of messages if you have no intention of doing an actual report
Elkstone 22 Jul @ 9:46pm
Yeah, broke
amorek 21 Jul @ 3:07pm
I think I have the same problem as others - everyone in my colony not only got food poisoning, but also cook infected them with Metalhorrors :D

This mod seems broken in 1.6
I_am_teh_Badger 12 Jul @ 7:10pm
Getting constant food poisoning with every meal in 1.6 after chef reached level 6. Prior to this, food poisoning was maybe an occurrence once every 20-30 in game days. Now it is, and without overstating it at all, every colonist, every time they eat when they are no longer food poisoned. I've suspended the cooking until all remaining meals are consumed but the consistency leads me to believe this is unintended behavior as the lack of this issue being SO prevalent over the last 17 hours of this save and with a far less experienced cook/ far less sterile kitchen.
honoll 12 Jul @ 5:01pm
This mod seems to be broken since late 1.5. All my settlers get food poisoning every time they eat.
Willow 11 Jul @ 8:47am
Lots of food poisoning happening with this now on 1.5. Especially with pets, over and over they are getting sick.
Lanoyo 30 Jun @ 8:22am
@stups I have been having the same issue. I had to temporarily disable food poisoning in storyteller settings because my pawns were getting food poisoning again immediately after getting over it.
randalf 27 Jun @ 7:17pm
@stups my whole colony has also been getting sick, all my chefs are lvl 10 or higher. Think its how clean your storage and kitchen is that affects it also, but it could be the mod as well.
stups 24 Jun @ 4:47am
For some reason after adding the mod for 1.6 my whole colony gets food poisoning at the same time with cooks at a skill level around 15. Not sure if it is because of this mod.

Anyone else with similar issues?
Mlie  [author] 14 Jun @ 8:26am
@Bronips yes
Bronips 14 Jun @ 8:22am
1.6?
