As mentioned below you can't multiply by zero and expect to get anything.
Ahem! My point being, this mod can't multiply by zero. If there aren't any spawn points near your tribe, you'll still get nothing.
I've had more fun with my last tribe in a tropical valley. You can really see this mod at work there! Chickens swarming like rats, nice sized herds of alpacas, even a number of mammoths... ...although having a few of those in close proximity to each other kind of adds to the challenge of hunting them. (Sooo many sapients flying through the air... T_T )

i edited the file and changed the Value from 1000 to 500 to cut spawning in half..(at least that was my guess)
seems to work. instead of 5-8 mammoth spawning at a time. i'm getting around 2 or 3 at a time now.
mob.spawnFrequencyWeightTotal = 500.0
On the contrary, I have a lot of chickens here, but very few mammoths and alpacas
