Great mod, thank you very much for that Eggon. Question: If I massively increase the trunk multiplier, let's say x100, does that affect suspension and such as well? I upped the trunk capacity with another mod, but then the rear of the car started scraping over the asphalt after the first 1000 or so load volume had been filled. Thank you very much for your feedback.

Vanilla cars in B41 were bad enough, they nerfed them (and player carry weight + BACKPACK carry weight) in B42

So now the game is almost practically unplayable. I reminisce about b41 and these actually functional vehicles. Can't wait for a B42 compatibility update. <3

Since I'm not a Coder, I have no clue if this is feasible, but:
Is it possible to add a WeightReduction Multiplier to the trunks, similar to how bags function when equipped? This might be a solution to the car being overloaded and the cars unable to move.

@Ghis: I figured out what's wrong with your car - It's the suspension. When you load your car with too much stuff, the suspension of the back wheels will give in, lowering the rear car chassis and potentially clipping into the wheels and/or touching the floor. At some point, there is so much downward force of the weight you put into the car that it essentially can't move anymore. Guess that's pretty realistic.

I played around with the values for the suspension but couldn't really find a way to not lower the rear when it's "overloaded". Not sure IF you can even fix it by changing the suspension. There might just be a hardcoded part somewhere creating a downward force on the trunk location, completely bypassing suspension. Since the devs never assumed you could load in your trunk with hundreds or thousands of kg, this could make sense.

Hi, an error happens when you multiply your trunk capacity too high. The car simply won't move unless you remove most of the weight (it moves really slow if you put too much). We are using the x10 trunk capacity in our server so the Step Van (300kg vanilla capacity) should hold 3000kg in a x10 capacity multiplier, but if we go higher than 600kg the car slows down until it completelly stops and won't move after 1000 kg. The server only uses vanilla cars.

Yep, HP tweak would be needed with the capacity expansion. But even without it some vehicle would need it. But even with default capacity some of filibuster can't move when fully loaded, which makes no sense. I'd accept it if it was only due to the organised trait, where you overload the actual truck.

It appears that making car capacity bigger does not..work well.
I've had cars that can barely move because of the sheer weight of everything inside, there should be some kinda horsepower tweak to go with additional capacity

I am also wondering the same thing, this mod seems to make big 500+ storage trucks move so sluggish.

So will this make trucks capable to move even with 500 in inventory? Filibuster adds some big box truck, but when we loaded them they were barely able to move. What's the point of box trucks if you can't use the full capacity?

Hi, im asking here since i asked thorugh the bug reports section and didnt get a response. someone mentioned how aftert exceeding about 700 units of weight the cars just stop moving, and concluded that it was due to a calculation the game made of how much engine power the vehicle had and how much weight it had on the trunk or something along those lines. you suggested that a solution could be changing the engine power value in the vehicle config files. but i cant seem to find where that file is? i´ve searched in the mod files for a while now and im either dumb or blind cuz i cant find it anywhere. could you be more specific about where to find the file and what i should change?

@Wolfiefang But I did. On the beginning there's a highlights section. The problem with this mod is that it changes a few unrelated car features which is hard to explain in a way not causing misunderstanding. I did my best, but like you I'm not delighted with the effect either.

Can I recommend something? Can you put like a sorta "elevator pitch" at the start of the mod description. I love the feature description/highlights, but it's not pitched to me (or my friends) and it's hard to explain to them what this mod overall can do to help them enjoy the game. =) Wonderful work you do as always.

@Padre I forgot, it does modifiy car scripts programatically for loudness and engine force. You can test if this is the culprit by disabling Loudness Balance and Engine Force Balance in Sandbox Settings for EWC 2.0.

@Padre I suggest trying to isolate the mod that causes it step by step. At the same time I highly doubt it has anything to do with EWC 2.0, because EWC 2.0 does not touch car definitions nor spawning. Unless you're using obsolete EWC 1? Then I suggest switching to EWC 2.0.

Firstly, did you ever feel like that was the case in vanilla?

I never felt like any car was worse in terms of fuel
According to game files:
"based mainly on engine speed, engine quality & mass."



I might do that myself if I get some time.
Maybe I'll score cars based on how fast, strong, offroad capable, spacious and heavy they are and just make the best cars fuel guzzlers.

@nigel Thanks for the ideas. The problem is I have no time for modding... and many own ideas some of which are even started, but not progressing. As for fuel - do cars not consume different amounts of fuel in vanilla?

It's really cool to see this because I had some ideas for something like this as well, but haven't had the ability to make it real yet

Could you also balance car fuel consumption and provide some options(Car offroad capability would mean more fuel is consumed, more powerful and bigger cars take more fuel too)?

Another thing: Car spawn rate dynamic balance? Maybe there's a way to make automatic car balance based on the cars loaded? Maybe this could automatically be done based on the car stats and stuff as well?

@Zudakas Trunks do not have capacity reduction, they are plain containers. If you want bigger capacities use the Sandbox settings to apply whatever multiplier suits you. It will have same effect as weight reduction.

So, I checked out most of the trailers from AutoTsar's trailer mod, with 2x inventory, and they all seem to work perfectly. Finding a vehicle to tow them, however.... lol hoarder problems.
