Sorry, while checking Physics 10 that is built upon this mod, Kaleos found out that my brake parameters have a problem. We are now working on fixing it for both Physics 9 and 10. However, the retarder and exhaust problems are not mine, i still insist.
Sorry bro, you were right about keeping the handbrake.
With handbrake, I guess another mod is causing this problem.
Engine brake and reterder work well too.
Maybe someday I'll record the operation of both brakes in a real truck.
This mod uses the vanilla retarder and engine brake. I never touched them. It must be caused by something else. Besides, I never heard anyone complain about the retarder/engine brake before.
May I create a new physics mod based on the parameters you posted earlier? I will give you the credit and name the new mod "Physics 10 Kaleos" if you agree. So that other players can enjoy it too.
Regarding the turning radius, turning degree, and steering ratio, many years ago while I was creating "Physics 6.1 Geometry" I extensively searched Google and found data sources from truck and car manufacturers as well as racing game experts. Then I calculated and measured in in-game ETS2. However, that was many years ago, I don't remember the detail. But I would assume that Physics 6.1 could be more accurate, because Physics 9 tries to copy Physics 6.1 as much as I can remember (in terms of steering).
By the way, thank you for the pictures. I still have no clue what to do with the fifth wheel. I don't touch what I don't know.

It's really hard to measure distances in the game.
But from my calculations it turns out that in ets2 it is 1.5-2 m larger
Going back to the turning angle of the truck itself, at first your value of 28 seemed perfect, but (I couldn't find a better way than paint :P ) so since the real 12.5m is "max_visual_rotation: 34"

How did you take the measurements?
This mod = 11.5 meters.
The vanilla = 8.5 meters
Regards.
Regarding the cabin suspension, rolling, sway bar, etc. that you recommended, I will try today. And I feel excited to see how it works. If the parameters recommended by you are better than mine, I will ask your permission for me to make a new mod from that.
Regarding the fifth wheel, I still don't understand how it works in relation to the truck. And I still don't know how much it matters to the physics of the truck. I'd be glad if you teach me.
"# maximum allowed rotation of the front wheels (degrees)
max_visual_rotation: 28", is really really real
but there was a problem with the behavior of the semi-trailer in relation to the truck. The maximum permissible relative angles in degrees between the joints of the truck and the trailer (fifth wheel) are far from realistic.
Can you fix it?
It's awesome that the truck really turns, but unfortunately the semi-trailer doesn't.
Regards.
"g_cabin_suspension_stiffness 0" too hard
You can set, for example, the value -0.7 in the console and it's better, but it was until version 1.46
In the latest 1.47 there is a new feature "Road bumps"
With the default setting
"g_cabin_suspension_stiffness 0"
"g_bump 1.0" (max 2.0 is possible) if someone wants to be close to the real behavior of the truck cabin, I recommend these settings:
cabin_max_pitch_angle_front: 3.25
cabin_max_pitch_angle_rear: 3.25
cabin_max_roll_angle: 1.1
cabin_suspension_travel: 0.09
cabin_suspension_damping_factor: 0.8
cabin_sway_bar_factor: 1.0
cabin_cog_height_offset: 0.1
cabin_mass: 1100.0
Try my Air Ride mods and choose one of them. I have prepared something new but waiting for the patch 1.47 to be official.
Dankeschön.
I am glad and honored that a real-life truck driver approves my physics mod. And I appreciate your recommendation for the users. However, to my understanding, "g_cabin_suspension_stiffness 0" is the softest because the default vanilla value is 1. Nevertheless, this mod was made before the new "Uneven Road Surface" feature introduced by SCS in patch 1.47. We will see how well this mod shows up with the Uneven Road feature. The goal of this mod is to make the truck realistically soft like what you show in the video. Also keep in mind that not only the cabin but the seat also plays a key role. Check my seat mods.
1800 degrees is too much, Volvo&MAN have about 1500.
I use a Direct Drive wheel base that has no rev limiter. I can set any value.
For 1500 and + more degrees
I recommend it for those users
Steering sensitivity 95-100% (slider bar)
Steering non-linearity 0% (slider bar)
Suggesting your photo of settings from the no GO-PRO version

If the slider is all the way to the left, value = 0
"g_cabin_suspension_stiffness 0" is too hard.
It's a drive on different roads, the cabin is bouncing all the time

Here's a short video of the new highway

I'm a real truck driver, I've always missed such a mod in ETS2, thank you very much for making my game more real.
Regards.
Grüssels.
Not work with 1.46?
Will this work with mod trucks?
This mod has the same or similar steering value as the "Steering & Cabin Fix" mod. But you should use this mod for the sake of compatibility.
does "steering cabin fix 1.3" work?
Yes, this mod brings the steering value from the Geometry 6.3 mod (or very close). And you can use this mod instead, as the old mod might not be compatible with the game's current patch.
I tried this mod with ATS already and it did not help at all because long-nose trucks do not have cabin suspensions as European trucks. American trucks only have wheel suspensions. All I am saying is that ATS needs a different physics mod.
I am glad you found the sweet spot for your 1800 wheel. And thank you very much for sharing the stability setting. I will try it.
Also truck stability at ~35% and trailer stability at ~30% feels more like real life as well.
This is one of the best physics mods anyway.Good job MOMO & YUNA
This mod uses SCS' latest physics file. It is impossible to crash your game.
