Using a mod, you can activate the In-Game Editor for the Non-Dev version and then remove all scripts and triggers at any stage in the manned mission campaign. Then make a new scenario.

I messed around with 'Great Escape' for a while. As in, the Commander was not dead but arrived just after Mark had blasted off for home. How he got there I will leave to your imagination. LOL
