I would like to see a Mod similar to this for the Skaven that just make them dont care about friendly Fire at all... i Hate when my Skaven slaves surround a enemy Lort and my Artilery stops firing at him because "there is something in the way" even if its just skaven slaves..

andy why did you make the obstruction 20% lower then before? and not 15% lower, when they fire 15% higher in vanilla?

The main problem with this mod is that while skaven do get more ruthless in firing at their own troops units like rattling guns and jezzails simply delete themselves.

Is it possible to show the friendly fire caused by your own units? In a similar way to how it shows kills, damage and damage value? I just think it would be super funny to quantify how many of your own skavenslaves you've killed with artillery with this mod as an example, lol.

AI empire are shooting their front line to pieces with this mod lol I love it. it makes the AI seem so ruthless.

The game just check what version number was written on the mod. It says nothing if a mod is actually compatible or incompatible to a patch. There are loads of mods that say incompatible but have worked and will continue to work fine. What breaks mods to some degree is when the game changes things that a mod also modifies. People bugging mod authors with "update please" when no update is needed is a big reason why authors disable comments or mods get abandoned/NOT updated in the few cases when they actually do need an update.

Hmmm, Maybe its just my imagination then. I installed it but it said it was out of date so I said load it anyways but the units didn't really seem to change much and were still very wonky on shooting over friendly units even when placed on a hill. I guess it could just be me though I will mess with it some more with the mod loaded to see.

I know I am kind of kicking a dead horse here, but is there a updated version of this mod anywhere or explanation on what needs to be changed in the files to do it yourself?

This would be nice to have as a toggle.

Like a "Do or die" kind of thing for when you absolutely need your ranged units to fire (without them normally deleting your frontline while there is low pressure), or as other said to run as default on in "Skaven mode".

Yes the change is universal, I havent noticed how it changes AI behaviour, but their units can shot (and friendly fire) exactly like yours

Daverin, i don't think it is possible to make it care if a unit is expendable or not, I think you can change units "missile hit box" individually, but that would mean some incompatibility and would affect enemy and friendly fire equally, also don't think it is possible to toggle friendly fire ingame, as it is a "game rule", but mabye with some scripting, would be very cool

The best mod would be something like this that also reduces friendly fire damage percentage by like 20-30% so you dont accidently wipe out your front line with a firing squad

Question; is it possible at all to make this a bit more sensitive to unit types? For example, I thought I read expendable made an friendly unit not care about firing into them, but I have seen fireglaives clearly deciding against shooting at enemies on the other side of orc labourers, while blunderbuss in the same area would gladly aim over goblins.

That, or, what really needs to happen is another option for it. A toggle indicating you want a ranged unit to fire regardless of friendly fire.

Does the mod need to be updated? Patch notes says the targeting for missile units behaves a bit differently, specifically when being obstructed by buildings or objects.

Dramaking05, that would be more extensive, and require editing each desired unit in another table individually, and also therfore be alot more incompatible with other mods.

Dr. Bones, that is somewhat what this mod does, it tells your units to "not care" if they aim up to 20% bellow the top of friendly units. You could change it to 100%, so they never care, the "problem" is that most missiles don't pass through multiple models, so if they dont care at all youll hit only (or at least a lot more) your own units, not the enemy and your units.
But if you want to try you can change the file number from 0.85 to 0.0, feel free to publish it as well if you want.

Stopping by to say this is a must have mod - I think it fixes some of the weird range quirks CA implemented in WH3 I've used it for WE, Dwarves, and Greens w/ zero issues, except the grudges for wiping my own front line due to lazy positioning lol

You think you can make it where Missile units fire while moving? I hate it when at least for me an entire unit doesn't shoot at all because one d*ck head is still getting into position when everyone else could shoot

You could change the value this mod changes (projectile_friendly_fire_man_height_coefficient) from 0.8 to 1, that would reduce (but not eliminate) friendly fire and let you shoot over your own troops more easily than vanilla.

Don't know any way to eliminate friendly fire and let your units shoot regardless of obstruction.

I tested it, and sort of. You will be able to stack ranged units on top of each other/other units. But they will deal friendly fire damage.

Does this make missile units fire like patch 1.3? or before the hotfix?
