Okay, what I'm going to do is make having Spouse Designer available in Multiplayer a Game Rule thing and call it Experimental, I dunno how well it'll work if people take turns and don't try and select characters / edit ta the same time but hopefully okay ? Really wish there was some kinda writable scratch pad.

The Landed vs Landless button layout is backwards in Multiplayer vs Singeplayer too. I hate it so much.

Oh god this is worse than I thought, a good chunk of the interface is duplicated for Multiplayer vs Singleplayer but the Singleplayer stuff is defined in the type definitions and the Multiplayer stuff is done as overrides to the type in a different file using the type. Why (???????????). This probably explains why stuff looks squished sometimes too, if my checks fail wrong you'd get doubles of some things which there absolutely isn't enough screen space for.

Hmm. No it is loading properly, just seems like there's something weird going on with the buttons that I'm not understanding. Bleargh, I hate GUI modding in this game.

Don't suppose there's anyone familiar with Multiplayer GUI modding reading this ?

I was tinkering around to try and fix the Multiplayer thing and now for some reason multiplayer_types.gui loads and overrides the base game in Single Player but the game seems to load the base game multiplayer_types.gui when I try and Host A game. The checksum shows as modified but no mods are listed as enabled, however Spouse Designer shows up in the game rules.

This makes approximately -500% sense.

Definitely going to need a Screenshot, could you upload it to steam gallery and share maybe ? I've looked into this closely now and it manifests significantly differently for me. For me the family window just doesn't become visible in multiplayer (still needs fixing ) but the Multiplayer stuff doesn't get squished. I'll see about fixing the missing family window in multplayer tho. I legit don't understand what the heck is happening there.

Not exactly how I thought but I do understand the problem now. I'll see about doing something so it's playable in multiplayer even if it's just disabling Spouse Designer while in Multiplayer but hopefully I can work out something better

@kalanyr i have a screenshot but i cnt send it here its just that normally you have the multiplayer things like players and such as a big window from top to bottom but with the mod its complete squashed together in the left top corner and you cant interact with it

I noticed while looking over the code that the assignment of Nomadic governments in the Optional Areas is *incredibly* weird, tldr: the game makes the player nomadic in a lot of situations where the AI isn't (this is why you can find yourself a nomad and a neighbouring realm not and then the situation reverses if you play the other character in eg the Sahel ) . Are people interested in a mod that makes that discretionary (wouldn't be this mod ) and it'll be the last thing I work on this round so it won't be soon ) ?

Can you be more specific ? I wouldn't expect this mod to work in Multiplayer because Paradox doesn't really give you anywhere to scratch pad temporary data that's MultiPlayer safe before you have a character. But I wouldn't expect it to mess up the UI either.

This isn't about this mod specifically but rather all my mods ( for the Coronation update):
The changelog for these doesn't suggest that there's much in the way of updates even with bugfixes but there's a *lot* of changed files including ones that I wouldn't expect from the changelog, hopefully these are just minor bugfixes they didn't document.

About this mod specifically:
I might leave this mod until later than I normally do because I've been having some problems working out a good way to combine the normal Paradox checks with the checks this mod needs for character legality, since theoretically from the change logs my other mods should be quicker (apart from Marriage Doctrines ) so it's probably better to get the other stuff done rather than spin my wheels.

Hmmmm. I didn't think I was effected because it's never happened before but apparently my system does sometimes suffer from the hard system freeze from last year's feature update. I wouldn't say that's ideal. With a bit of luck it'll just be because of the older external SSD I started using again very recently, so I'll try without it plugged in shortly.

Sounds like AGOT changed something this mod is about as compatible as it's possible for it to be but it stops working if you get too far from vanilla. I don't really do Compatches for total conversions but I'll take a look after the other mods are updated.

Welp, Coronations just got announced for 2 weeks from now. Eyeballing it I don't think it's worth delaying updating anything since it seems to be implemented via Realm Laws which none of my mods touch at the moment ( it will also bring new Events but I think in a way where it's not really going to be more difficult to update the events in 2 parts or 1 ), so my plan for the immediate future is to just keep on trucking.

Personally I agree, Barons are an interesting concept but until any flavor is added, I would much rather playable Barons be removed in favor of this mod being updated.

Whatever's faster for the update to come out, really. I don't play as barons, ever, but it doesn't matter to me if you want to keep it in.

Personally I haven't played as a baron, but I'm for keeping options open. That being said, if it's between keeping Spouse Designer working well and playing as a baron, I'd rather remove the baron playability and have Spouse Designer work well

@Kalanyr Ahh I udnerstand now. I think it should liekly be fixed simply becuase im not sure how it would even work playing as a baron seeign as i dont think youd really have an army and thus the ability to expand and u would be unlanded easily. so i think u should liekly fix it

According to Reddit the character finder allows you to select Barons on the Lobby Screen (that's normal what's not is that their has always been a check that blocks you paying as a Baron but apparently the check isn't working ? I assume the Landless Adventurer or Administrative check is being shortcutted in a bad way ).

Playing as a baron doesn't really work well because you're not supposed to be able too ( War is generally handled at the County level not the holding level, and because the Baron AI is supposed to be pretty passive a bunch of decisions are blocked )

personally Im not sure what u mean by playing as a baron. I tend to just chose a random location and make a character then go and start a run. soemtimes lately though ive been playing as a noamd or wanderer. personally im fine if U fix the bug though

Okay working on this now. Just a quick poll:

So currently the Paradox check that should prevent you playing as a Baron doesn't work. Playing as a Baron is glitchy as fuck, to use the technical term. Should I keep the Paradox behaviour or block playing as a Baron ? I'm not going to facilitate playing as a Baron more so than the base game does ( since as I said it's glitchy) but I don't wanna fix the big if people are actually using it currently.

Personally I have had no problem (as somebody who mainly plays non-traveller non-nomad games) so if your playing just a basic regular game you shouldn't have any gamebreaking issues with this mod. Very good mod btw!

don't add spouse when making character, load into game then back out into switch character and add spouse after you have started the game. that is what worked for me i was running agot idk if that makes a difference or not

You can end up with an unmarried spouse as the new player character if you try and setup a marriage that isn't legal ( same with children who are too old ) , I need to sanity check that stuff at some point.

I think things are looking pretty good for an update this weekend or early next week. I had a fair bit of tech and medical stuff to sort out, then some travelling then catching up on everything I fell behind on during that but I'm almost caught up on everything I can't put off for a little bit right.

I did that but when I click finalize on the spouse, it makes them married by default. I don't see any option to make the spouse unmarried.

i made my character unmarried first, loaded into the game then went to switch character, add spouse then edit the spouse
