@Horse by lag do you mean the frame rate tanks or the typical latency lag?

I do have it off, and using the auto-share at 20mins intervals and it gets real laggy when it shares. I'm only playing with 2 other people.

@Horse if you're using live share as well turn that off and see if it improves. the mod will only send new packets once the previous one has completed to prevent flooding the network.

crazy lag sometimes, but sometimes no lag when sharing not sure what but really ruins the game sometimes

Not sure if this is been suggested already, but I'm sure it has. Any plan to turn this concept into an interactive item in game? I don't know the technical feasibility of it, but I think a cartography table would be a neat item. A player interacts with the table to upload or receive map data with other players in the game (or on their team). That way it'd feel more natural and could be a progression item (dropped by goblin or pirate invasion maybe?)

@Fridgeroni sounds like your auto share interval is set too short. also if you're on a slow connection it could cause lag

@Jim the Gardener what is it spamming? also the average size of a map transfer for large worlds is around 30mb. so if you or someone else has a slow connection that could cause some lag

Causes server lag like fuckin crazy. Even with interval set to 30 mins, it spams CONSTANTLY.

This is so cheeks, it keeps sending a notification that data is sharing every like 30 seconds and causes a giant lagspike to everyone on the server.

When my friend tries to join my game it gets stuck at like 13/33% on loading map tiles, cant figure out why. FYI experimental is off

My game is saying (in reference to live map sharing) "notification: server can't save because changes would require a reload", What do I do about this?

@JamesDreemurr this mod does not touch player movement. however it sounds like the network may be overloaded. if you are using live share, disable it as it requires a fast internet connection to use.

when running this mod all players no longer can see each other move and they just teleport a few feet at a time, basically making multiplayer impossible

@KimJongSkill i guess its possible world gen previewer might have something to do with it, but i wouldn't think so. that's the only thing i can think of.

@KimJongSkill the only way this mod writes data to the minimap is from receiving data from another player. so whoever shared their data with you is the culprit for why your map looks like that

Can't recall when it happened exactly but it was in a multiplayer session around the time we killed Queen Bee.

@Ailur edit the config in single player and then send that config to your dedicated server.

@Greysion could be more specific about the crash? like is it crash to desktop or loss of connection and is it when dying or when sharing?

I receive this message "you are not the server host" when trying to modify settings for this mod on a dedicated server I own. Have no idea about how I can set myself as the owner.
