The manufacturing country seems to be mixed up. The version purchased for rubles is made in the USA and the version purchased for dollars is made in the Soviet Union.

Thanks. It's based on a Clarke Tructractor from 1924. No it's not supposed to be made out of wood

apparently, the first forklift truck (which actually had forks) dates to 1923, so you seem to be bang on the money with this!
there's an interesting website all about forklift history if anyone else wants to take inspiration and make other pre-1960 forklifts!
