Tho it doesn't alter Asatru, I don't think so I have no idea why.
Nice round number.
You can use "*" symbol to tell the launcher to ignore the game version change.
Example:
1.*.* - will show error only when the game will update to 2.0.0.
It doesn't mess with the UI at all. The names are just Asatru names of those provinces that game automatically gives them if the owner is Asatru. The mod does not change the UI at all.

For example, if Norse pagan reformer went full Mohammad and took over Rome he might destroy Papacy and Christian idols to just replace them with Asatru ones and maybe proclaim a new Rome(under Norse)
I am not a "viking" fanboy. This is a ultimately a gameplay mod, and completely inline with paradox's policies of how the game should work. Asatru is the only pagan religion in the game that has very spread out holy sites, which makes reformation harder. The only other religion like this was the Finno-Ugric religion and guess what Paradox did to that? You guessed it right, they separated them into two religions, one for Siberians and one for Finno-Ugric area. The old Saxon religion and people don't even exist in 867 start date, and you want to sacrifice the gameplay of the Norse to appease some perceived historical accuracy that is widely contested due to lack of evidence? Sorry, but no. In CK3, paradox has clearly made Asatru religion for the Norse, this is simply undeniable, and this mod builds up on that.
No point in fighting that battle. The creator is just a Viking fanboy, which is 100% fine. "Viking religion" when viking isn't a race or ethnic group or a culture. Bases the argument around what Paradox put in the game. Meanwhile, Asatru is a modern religion sect that was created in the 1970's Iceland. Asatru meaning "faith in the Aesir" which completely leaves out the Vanir, of which Freya and Freyr are apart of, the ladder of which is the most commonly worshiped god in Sweden, more so than Odin. Paradox puts in a "holy sites" of a possibly fictional hero in Ragnar Lodrok who as a "holy site" for his martyrdom lmao. The creator puts two holy sites in Celtic/Brethonic territory haha love it. I think he is getting culturally significant sites mixed up with "holy sites". The Norse faith is the Germanic faith, we all stand with Odin, Thor, Freya, Freyr, and the other Aesir and Vanir.
Whether historically they were separate or not, they are and should be in CK3 game, the same way Paradox separated the Siberian and Finno-Urgic religion in the game. If they are forced into one, none of them will get the flavor they deserve. Saxon or Anglo Saxon paganism will need it's own religion, it cannot use the viking one. The game clearly states it is the religion of the Norse and natives of Scandinavia and this mod just works on that.
Haven't decided yet, but I might change the tenets too, though not all of them. Sharing at least one tenet between Norse and Saxon religion is ideal in my opinion.
I haven't fully decided on Saxon holy sites either, but the guaranteed 3 are Paderborn, Zeeland and Sjaelland. I've been busy with other stuff, so the Saxon mod will be delayed.
It always felt weird to me that the 'Norse' faith had holy sites outside of Scandinavia, especially in the early start.
Are you changing tenets for Saxons or is the only thing you are changing the holy sites?
Changes to holy sites need fresh saves, so yes.
How can we split Catholicism from Orthodox but not split what the Norse practiced from Saxons? It's ludicrous to claim they were exactly the same. Sure, mechanic wise, they could be part of the same religion group, the same way both Catholic and Orthodox are "Christian". But they should be separate, sort of like heresies of each other. So this way they can share some holy sites (definitely Sjaelland for example) but also have their own unique holy sites as well. Paderborn and Zeeland was never significant to the Norse, the same way Uppsala and Ranaheim were not significant to the Saxons. But Sjaelland was significant to both.
Apparently Paradox needs a history lesson haha, or maybe it was just bad wording on there part. I do love they're games but "Asatru" is a term coined in the 1970's in Iceland for make a modern name of the religion for what the Christian called Heathens during the time of the game. Also called Germanic Paganism. The Irminsul for Saxons is Yggdrasil for the Norse but they are one in the same.
Any who, best of luck with your mods. I would limit holy sites to 5 just so it isn't overkill. Also if you are going to make the the Saxon branch, it would be tough to change anything imo. Everything the Asatru religion in game, the Saxons also did. Maybe add Sacred Groves to the Old Saxon culture. I am working on a Germanic Pack mod myself and did that. Maybe give them their own religion family under Heathen, then have the faiths as Saxon and Norse. Or maybe don't do anything and make whatever you want.
"Crusade"? It's already separate in the game. Paradox removed Zeeland as a holy site in the norse patch, citing it's a Saxon holy site and has nothing to do with vikings, going by that same logic, Paderborn is also not a viking holy site. On top of it, the religion clearly states it's a Norse religion native to people of Scandinavia, so they are ALREADY separate, I am just making it more convenient with this mod to play as the Norse.
