thats a really clever way to do team colors, maybe not "necessary" but any effort to keep teams distinct is great

I really it! You should make a style with no broken teeth/bandage, i'd 100% use this hat if it had such a style.
Maybe look into paints too? And possibly tweaking a bit the team color areas in the process, making the hat a bit closer to one color with areas that are closer to the other team's color or a purple-ish tone as if mixing red and blue paint on those areas.
