There will be a more challenging version "Riding Shotgun Carnage" soon on the workshop
Here's a teaser: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cOUt0HmkJO0
Good variety where we switch from combine to zombies to antlions.
I will fix some things and upload a new version.
Good action and some tough fights with you name it.
You need to go through the cave - prepare for combat. Deactivate the force field with the blue eye you can find in the combine locker.

That being said, I think I sequence broke or there's a fourth power socket I never found. I found three batteries and used the Reviver Heart and then found a spare battery in the house with the Poison Headcrabs. I'm also not sure if the Antlion tunnel was meant to have infinite spawns, it made it difficult to do the puzzle without some breathing room.
Also the tinted Combine corpses are still alive and can be double murdered. That isn't a complaint, I just found it funny.
I've taken your feedback to heart and revised the map.
Some of the changes:
- revised ammo/health placement
- more spawn positions for Antlions/Combine
- added Manhacks/ usable Tripmines
- removed annoying roof-top Suppressor
- more/better cover for player/enemies (etc... more in changelog)
See the changes on a playthrough here:

I usually only smoke after a certain procreational event, but dangnabit if I didn't have the urge to lite one up after finishing this level.
I do have to ask why after completing the level, and I'm sitting in a hotel room (apparently), were there health and ammo available? That borders on sadistic.
Other interesting touches included: opening the washing machine (hey, I'm domesticated); being able to shoot the lock from the other side of the gate as you go into the basement (I've only just discovered that), and the apparent corpse of a Half Life character.
If I were to employ a type of video game trope, I would consider this akin to a James Bond level where you get a pre-brief on anticipated opposition and on-site ammo availability. But then again, if I could predict the future.......
The map really kicked my ass as first, but after restarting and focusing more on scavenging I was able to get through more easily (still died multiple times on the final battle, that was tough!)
I experimented a lot with the AI and spawning mechanisms on this map, giving the AI strong cover and other hints.
Almost all Combine spawn in random but from fixed points, in distance and hidden from the player.
There won't be more than 3 Antlions at the same time but they spawn in a frequency that makes the fight look "bigger"
Ammo sparsity is a thing, most evident on hard, that I have to fine tune a bit more.
I am so glad you liked it - thank you very much!
The antlion-first approach makes the first combine battle a bit easier (get the SMG) but you won't have the grenades on the first antlion encounter.
My only personal issue with it was a lack of resources to be able to make it to the finish line without either replaying the game from the beginning, or kill one enemy at a time without taking any damage and save.
- Maybe after I've calmed down a bit, and consume my body weight in alcohol, I might think about going back and trying to complete it, but I fear my patience may run out before my health or ammo.
- This is a incredibly challenging level, and for those that completed it, you have my respect.
There were a couple of times were the gameplay logic did not quit work out for me, especially for getting the 2nd battery in the basement. I eventually got it, but how I got it felt I owed as much to luck as any skill required.
With enough time, and plenty of game saves, I feel I could have made it, but the fun was giving way to frustration, and I saw 'rage quitting' on the horizon.
The question comes down to 'Do I want to play the game from the beginning?', and for now, the answer is no.
- If I were to assign a newspaper headline to this game, it would read: "A Slow Burning Hodge Podge of a Game That You'll Love or Hate!"
- I played the game on Medium difficulty, and initially thought the game was too easy at the beginning. But over time, and going through a couple of stages with seemingly endless waves of bugs and Combine, with ever dwindling resources, this game grew from a light summer breeze difficulty to the opening battle of Saving Private Ryan.
I added a video with a complete walkthrough.
Have you found the one hidden in the basement?
You need to climb on the pipes and get to the vent/ alternatively the reviver in the cave or the one in the other building (yellow case)
