Good concept, causes issues though sadly. If the AI takes the province capital only, it can get granted the rest of the entire province in quick succession!

Had the laurelorn wood elves take most of toddy's middenland when they took middenheim from festus...not ideal! had to fix it with console commands and delete the script from the mod file.

Ideally, a fix would involve something like only giving the free settlement if the province capital owner owns at least half the settlements in the province? So it helps them 'finish' provinces, but otherwise doesn't interfere as much...

but if you're busy I get it :)

Does this mod factor in ruins? I am playing a beastmen campaign and my blood grounds seem to keep getting randomly occupied without any armies traveling to the ruins. This is the only mod I use that I can think of that touches settlement ownership.

This is a really clever solution. But I'm hesitant to try it after reading comments about the AI trading the settlements with people they are at war with. The AI is enough of a liability as-is while at war. I don't want my allies to give our shared enemies any territory.

Is there a way to make major factions be favored in this? The only reason I haven't really put on this mod for a while is that is seems to kill off many the playable LLs. Probably because many do not start in a capital.

Having Minor factions not be able to do it to Major ones could fix it?

The mod seems to be causing factions to give settlements to other factions that they are at war with. Had a situation playing as Franz, I attacked a minor settlement controlled by Vlad and gave it back to Talebecland, on their next turn they gave it back to Vlad. My next turn I attacked the province capital and gave it to Talebecland, and on Vlad's next turn they gave away every minor settlement

I had a situation where Gisereux controlled Gisereux & Fort Bergbres. They ended up handing over the settlement of Giseroux to Artois. Artois now has a full province, but Giseroux only controls the fort, so they no longer have a functional settlement. I don't think a situation like this should be possible.

Can you add some restrictions? For example, only allies or high diplomatic relations will trade, which will not lead to human and chaos transactions

Can you perhaps make it so that the stolen settlement always went to the faction that has the most settlements in the province? From my case below, Karak Izor should went to Belegar who held most of the Vaults

It does work but sometimes it make things worse. For example in my game Gelt captured Karak Izor in the Vaults, the rest of which is held by Belegar. The mod decides the logical thing to do is to give Gelt the rest of the Vaults

Erm should do. Only funk I could see is if region adjacency on that map is funky. Not sure how much of th map logic they have figured out.

Not sure if something is broken on my end, but it seems like hostile factions trade settlements. Changeling just captured a settlement bordering a Kislevite faction (they're hostile), and it suddenly went to that Kislev faction.

This was on turn 1 that all these factions decided they hated having territory.

I tested it just now. Same problem. I turned off FOW to observe and several factions nearby to factions they weren't at war with immediately sold ALL of their settlements (including the capital) to their neighbor, and then began starving to death.

I was looking at the script. The scenario Vaeringjar notes occurs because the two neighbours are not at war. I'll take a look at the script to see why a faction is giving all its territories though.That shouldn't be happening.

this mod has some balancing issues, and per the description some parts don't seem to be working

Scenario: I'm at war with 2 neighbours that also neighbour each other. I took a province capital of neighbour A's only province, then sold it to neighbour B for peace & cash. Next turn, B suddenly acquired the whole province and A was taking attrition due to being landless.

Could player vassals be excluded from this mechanic? As Festus, I gave my Norscan vassals the Wrecker's Point settlement which I conquered from Nordland, and they promptly gave it back to the greenskins who held the capital of the province. Later they immediately gave away another settlement that they themselves just colonized from ruins!

Also in the same game, once I captured the capital province and gave it to my vassal, the other factions in the same province (the aforementioned greenskins and the wood elves) immediately gave away their settlements, even though those were their last ones, so both became homeless.

Hey there, In my current campaign I noticed that Warriors of Chaos are taking the small outpost settlements from their vassals / they vassals are gifting it to them. Could it be possible to make them an exception? Since this way they loose on alot of manpower through their vassals.

Got a bit of a silly result with this mod in my latest campaign. Kislev lost the capital settlement of one of their oblasts, then an allied Empire faction colonized it, and Kislev promptly sold the entire oblast to them. xD

This mod does not stop the AI wanting to conquer the world. All it does is takes territories from allied AI factions and makes them trade regions so that they own complete provinces. As such, it should make the AI more challenging mid to late game, because they have much more efficient provinces.

how is the mid/ late game with this mod? Because me as player conquer more and more. Would this make this now the game very easy after 100 turns?Because for example cathay don't conquer outside of there borders. or slaanesh would never leave the frosty north to bring chaos over the old world. I'm very interessted in this mod, because i hate border gore. But i fear it would make it easier in the late game for player, if the factions don't get bigger?

So upon retesting. I have indeed found that this mod along with several in my original collection work fine. With reexamination I am led to believe that rather than a mod incompatibility that there is a mod limit that exists in Warhammer 3 with the vanilla mod manager or that the CA mod manager doesn't properly load mods in the correct order. I have already deleted the comments suggesting a ctd as I do not wish to put libel on your mod page. I humbly ask for your forgiveness for my misjudgment. I have 161 mods in my collection, soon to be 160 and on doing the math it seems the mod limit if that is indeed the issue is 146.

Are you sure that it is this mod? It consists of a single custom script and has no reference to db, so at the very worst case scenario - the script would just not work vs an actual crash.
