I saw your new comment on one of my posts, and all I can say is, why weren't you this reasonable before? If you had worded it the way you did on that post, I would certainly have been less embittered and CERTAINLY less spiteful.

Unfortunately discontinued or not the rules still apply until 70 years after all authors are dead. You should ask first and if they don't respond... But if you are asked to take it down though you have to do it unless you got a written waiver they actually own your derivative work. Branching off is still considered theft, hence you can't just fork Windows 7 bc it's EoL. This is why putting licenses on code is so important so it's clear and unambiguous if it's okay to fork. I suggest reading https://choosealicense.com/no-permission/ as a good summary. It's simple and short but the key line for this discussion is

As for the tantrum thing, I agree which is why I commented because your comment came off as exactly that, you can't force the mod people anything just because you want something. Merely ask and hope.

I'd argue you've done several of the above. Please consider researching legal claims before you assert them and being appreciative of the work others have done and respecting their wishes wrt their intellectual property. Code theft is not okay, and by encouraging or asserting it is YOU are actively harming the community by demotivating people to make mods as if they do you are proving they will be harassed and their rights over the hard work they put in will be flagrantly ignored by people who will then insult them.

I recommend stopping the aggression and trying to be part of what makes this community great rather than continuing to damage the spirit of inclusivity and respect for people that are adding to games for us plebs with no expectation of reward.

That's not how licenses work. Ludeon has the right to do whatever THEY want with it. But you don't, neither do I. I even re-read the license before posting this to be certain which it appears you have not. This is what is known in legal terms as a derivative work as as such the aspects that are derivative i.e. the actual mod is all covered under copyright of the mod authors. Ludeon retains full rights and IF this modding group were to grant the rights to any others their fork would be its own derivative of their derivative and the same rights would be entailed. In the same way that Ludeon could demand this mod be removed any attempt to duplicate in direct opposition to an assertion like this could similarly be forcibly removed and any attempt to knowingly do so IS in fact illegal.

Indeed most forks are legally dubious but get around it with assertions that the forker would actually take down the fork if the originator requested it.

Also, what makes you so butt hurt about such an amazing Mod? This is one of my all-time favorite Mods and I cannot conceivably see why you regret it .

@Turtleshroom This mod is for 1.3. It is not supported for 1.4 and will never be supported for 1.4. Even if this error occurred in 1.3, we will not fix it. This mod is an abomination that must never see the light of day again. And no, we are not allowing people to fork this mod for 1.4.

I can process Choco-Fuel into Chemfuel, Chemfuel into Choco-Fuel, and Choco-Fuel into Cringe's Chocolate.

HOWEVER, I cannot convert Choco-Fuel into Chocolate. If I can do everything else with it, then I should be able to make Chocolate too. That's actually why I purchased a Choco-lope to begin with.

Can we get a version / have this version only optionally require Oompa Loompas or are they hardcoded into the mod?
