So in my game there's no option for food restrictions for vegetarian or anything. How exactly do you get to that? It shows me a different panel for the food policies and for the mod on individual pawns (same menu for both). It'd be helpful if you left instructions on how to get to these menus.

I'm rebuilding my mod list after a couple years away from the community and it took me like half an hour to find this very helpful mod without remembering what it was called. worth every second

is this mod supposed to make the default for animals the same as the pawns?
i find that once an animal is tamed, purchased or born, they get the default "food restriction eleven" for food. if i forget to periodically check, the animals will start starving because grass, etc is not allowed for them to eat in that food restriction.

Not subbed, but just wanted to let you know this is a great idea and should be in the Vanilla game. Thumbs upped and awarded

As an aside, "Rotten meat" from the Rotfish Xenorace is not considered "Rotten" in the sort system. You will need to forbid it manually. I recommend not storing it as well; they will cook with it. Just in case anyone subbed to this mod wonders why "Rotten meat" isn't affected.

Well, I use this mod Munchies which rebalanances that a bit. So, this mod is balanced around that.

maybe joints should be set to once every 2 days? if smoked once day they will get addictions and build up tolerance

I don't have plans to add options at this time. You can edit the patches directly if you want.

Maybe someday I might but, as I mentioned in the description, this is a mod made primarily for personal use. If it works for you, that's great. If you want to edit it locally for your own needs, go for it.

Hello, i have a small question about the mod, is there a configs File somewhere that can be editet? And if not is it ever planned to give people the ability to edit it over the filesystem/ingame mod options?

I think VolatileGlitchAviator might be under the impression that this lets you set up your own default policy when my understanding is that they're static and based on how the mod author normally plays

The policies are already set up. The one caveat is that it requires a new game to take effect.

This Might sound rather dumb but how to I setup this mod with new defaults? do i just do them in the Assign tab? and it saves them? is there something Special I have to do bring up a menu and set them?

can easily second the recommendation of Assign Animal Food; I refuse to play without it. and I'm expecting soon I'll be refusing to play without this, I was so tired of setting up the same restrictions over and over. the drugs in particular. I don't see it specifically listed but I'm guessing the vanilla cooking expanded brewing (the myriad coffees and teas, I forget the exact name) module is covered under the VCE compatibility?

Hey, so there is another mod Assign Animal Food that might work better alongside this mod. It allows you to set up animal food restrictions and auto-generates some animal specific ones.

That being said, I will still look into compat for AFR as soon as I get a chance.

Hi. How hard would it be to make a separate default food restriction for animals? Right now using the animal food restriction mod it sets them to your default and therefore they either die of starvation or I need to remember to change it for every new animal I get.

OK, just uploaded a fix. Make sure the mod updates on your end. You can even force it to be sure by unsubbing, waiting for it to completely delete, and then resubbing.

OK, I think I need to set an exception to look for Ideology. It's looking for some code that's Ideology specific, which I didn't realize. So, if you don't have the DLC loaded, it will trigger the error. I will look to make a quick fix.

So, I tested this quite a bit before releasing, and I just ran through the new colony set up several times with a few different builds. I am unable to reproduce the issue on my end. So, I'm guessing either there's a conflict or it's another mod causing the problem.

You can send a player log if you like, I can look at it tomorrow and see if I can see anything. Also, you can test with Dev Mode on and see if you get any errors when you try to push the Next button. If any do pop up send them to me.

Both vanilla and modded, specifically you cannot click next after clicking New colony in the Main Menu.

This mod makes it so you can't click next on any scenarios. It happens on both Windows 10 and Arch Linux.

So, I just played through the whole tutorial using this mod and had no issues. Perhaps if you shared more information, errors, details, logs, I could help. But I don't think this mod is your problem.

Yeah, it's kind of a give/take with smokeleaf but I use my other mod that changes the effect quite a bit. It still has a downside but I feel it's much more realistic.

Wow, these defaults are extremely similar to what I would wind up doing myself. I think there's literally like only one thing that I would change in the entire setup and that's disallowing smokeleaf by default because of the significant penalty, but I can just do that manually on the handful of pawns that it matters for.
