you can make handhelds by resizing them, the mass will be smaller automatically

nobody knows if the lore of ppg is 3D or 2D
also, if you wanted to make actual working monitors, you could cast a ray that would pick a point around which to take a rectangle where it would take visual data from ppg code and you could render that on the screen which is how other 2d games do it

an idea is to make a camera that can show up on a monitor, like making acustom monitor, and it just shows a bunch of lines because it's a 2-D thing that can only have a single line of camera pixels so it just sees lines.
