you look like you would be highly interested in the fasion souls mod i had commsioned

smellyfries, having the bonfire act as a touchstone was an option i was considering, yes. i'll look into tying it to a resource.

It would be cool, if in the future, you could offer it a resource like humanity, and the bonfire would act like a 1 use Meat Effigy, reviving you for every humanity, or rare resource you sacrifice to it, or make that a perk of fully upgrading the bonfire. Just an idea that popped in my head.

so i considered this as a skin, in fact the earliest prototype of this item was a fire pit reskin as i was perfecting the animations. unfortunately overwriting the basic fire pit skin seems to overwrite all instances of of the fire pit, including those with dynamic skins. so considering how a lot of folks base build utilize multiple type of fire pits, i thought this would be more user friendly as its own item.
