all of those designs are from different time periods, except for portal 1 and 2
Portal 1-A ball with a big eyeball and handles
Portal 2-A more close to "realism" design,more detail and dept but still a big eyeball and handles
Aperture Hand job -Sphere,eyes,suspended by wires and No handles + robotic arms
Aperture desk job - a ball with robotic hands and a luigi-sort mustache.
Where they gonna come up with a stable design choice for the cores?
Seriously though, people have ported half-life alyx stuff, and that runs on the same engine as aperture desk job.
