fundamental mod. Given the fact that the IA doesn't give a Fuck and have the armies inside the cities like vanilla

3.If the province is under invasion, but the army is in the region (not inside the city): A minor public order boost could be given, as people feel somewhat safer knowing reinforcements are nearby.

4.If the province is under invasion and the army is inside the city: A significant public order boost should be applied because the citizens would feel well protected, inspired and patriotic.

5.If the enemy presence persists for too long despite the army being inside the city: The public order bonus should start decreasing, as prolonged conflict without resolution would cause frustration and fear.

This would add more immersion and strategic decision-making, making players think carefully about troop placement rather than just always stationing armies in cities.

Would love to hear your thoughts on this idea! Thanks again for your work on the mod!

Hi! First of all, thanks for your work on this submod! I really like the idea of removing the public order penalty for garrisoned armies, but I think it could be improved for better immersion and strategic depth.

Instead of simply removing the debuff, how about making the effect dynamic depending on the province’s situation?

1.If the province is at peace: A large army inside the city should still cause unrest among the citizens, as they see it as an unnecessary military presence.

2.If the province is under invasion and has no defending army: Citizens would feel highly anxious and demoralized, as there is no immediate protection against the enemy threat, leading to a stronger public order penalty.

Update needed for DEI 1.3.4? may i ask

@Majpalmer
that's ridiculously cherrypicking. If Boston was on the brink of being eaten by the French who are using a hoard of Iriqois as auxiliary shock troops would you be pissy about it? really stupid comparison hinging it on technicality is bad so in earnest if there is no mod that can nuance these sorts of dispositions for specific settlements under specific circumstances then negative public order is just absurdly in the wrong direction.

I started using this again because the implementation of PO Negatives is totally idiotic and nowhere near historically accurate. For example Epeiros marches an army into Magna Graecia so I garrison I/III legions in respective cities Bene/Cosen. This produces an overall PO negative of -24 a turn and considering i start game already in red this means a full civil revolt in 4 turns in my case using 12 TPY. They are garrisoned for protection because they are not at start full Legions. There is no way on earth the people are going to revolt in 1 season. Sure they may grumble, they may even take pot shots at the soldiery but if the civvies are aware there's an enemy army bearing down intent on destroying their homes and culture their not going to boot the legions out into the cold in face of superior odds. That's retarded simple as. It would take a far longer time for any kind of revolt. If this is how Empires were back then, they never would have got off the ground beyond shambolic towns

@Majpalmer The Third Amendment to our Bill of Rights only prohibited troops being station withing private dwellings, it didn't say anything about barracks or other quarters. Not the best comparison.
Majpalmer 14 Apr, 2023 @ 6:15am
At first I didn't like the DEI concept that troops IN the city would hurt public order. But then I thought...Third Amendment of our Bill of Rights! Did placing British troops in Boston in the mid-1770s raise or lower public order in Massachusetts? No SubMod for me.

hello. I'm playing Imperator Augustus campaign.
I've put this mod on top priority, but it doesn't seem to work very well.
When troops are stationed in a city, public order changes randomly.
Banny_beach 10 Dec, 2022 @ 1:49am
why this mod dont works for fleet?
sam.pidgeon 25 Oct, 2022 @ 4:42pm
@Dresden good mod but may I use this in a compilation pack that I have created not been uploaded as I'm testing it.

It's for DEI saves people needing many files activated.

Having too many mods on causes crashes with big overhauls.
Dazza420 8 Oct, 2022 @ 6:26am
@Arkay because if you have an army patrolling the countryside you are keeping pirates and bandits at bay from pillaging and looting you, if at this minute I had thousands of soldiers randomly take over my town, id be pretty pissed off, I can imagine how much more intrusive it would have been back then with limited space, it may not be enjoyable gameplay wise for some but it makes absolute sense

Actually, I notice that the max capacity of DEI submods and mods in general shouldn't exceed 35.
Jon 15 Sep, 2022 @ 7:52pm
@RWFOULKES: This is working for me. Make sure your load order is correct and that your sub mods are up to date. Sometimes you will have to delete the sub mod and reinstall it. Finally don't run too many sub mods as well. Try and keep it below 50. Cheers!
Bright Fame 21 Aug, 2022 @ 8:52am
Sadly, this mod isn't working for me, regardless of load order. It would be great, and much appreciated, if this mod could be updated for DeI 1.3.1.
Brebs 3 Jun, 2022 @ 12:45pm
I agree with @Arkay this submod makes much more sense
Reno 31 May, 2022 @ 6:24am
Probably the mod is broken?
Hastati 26 May, 2022 @ 11:36pm
Thanks for this. I dont see how 5k troops patrolling the country side helps PO but having them in the actual pop center makes it worse. Was just annoying to me and didnt improve gameplay.
Drax70 16 May, 2022 @ 3:05am
@FasterMaster1012

I agree!!! +1
FasterMaster1012 15 May, 2022 @ 3:08pm
i dont even see why having armies Garrisoned would lower Public order...like its so fking stupid...unless they're Mercs
emberwood 14 Apr, 2022 @ 3:33pm
Thanks. This mod helps improve gaming experience a lot.
Stroncium 12 Mar, 2022 @ 1:46pm
Such a small thing and its a massive game changer. Appreciated.
The Grimwar 26 Feb, 2022 @ 9:09pm
This looks nice! Can you make a submod that reduced supply and unit upkeep for use with 40 unit armies enabled?
