Dunno. The max chance is at 20 level anyway. Unless you modify the StatDef, you won't see a change.

Hey. The updating function somehow messed up for some reason. It didn't update the mod but it got fixed. About the percentages, you may be right. I'll consider that.

@Miathea - any update on that error fix?

Unsolicited feedback: I've been thinking that this 100% chance doesn't really feel right in a game designed around randomness. Stone formation isn't naturally a perfect process, there should always be a chance to fail to create a chunk. If you did 4% & 1.5% you'd end up with an 80% final drop chance with a level 20 miner.
I'll adjust for myself, but just thought I'd drop my 2 cents here for consideration.

to clarify, when i said the chunk drop rate is low, i meant the base game chunk drop rate.

Is anyone else seeing this error on game launch:
[Mining Skill Overhaul] Patch operation Verse.PatchOperationAdd(/Defs/PreceptDef[defName='MiningYield_High']/statOffsets) failed
file: *\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\294100\2757365866\Patches\TunnelerPatch.xml
Not sure if this could be the issue, but I noticed that listed XML file includes the line: MayRequire="ludeon.rimworld.ideology" --> I do not have the Ideology DLC.

This mod appears to be missing the Tynan suggested mod version folder system (1.2, 1.3, etc) to help identify compatibility and to make the RimPy Mod Manager happy.
There are also source code files included in the mod bundle that I don't believe are needed for publishing.

great idea for a mod. i do feel the chunk drop rate is low, and im also a fan of anything that gives skill level more weight.if im understanding this correct, its modifying the base 25%, yes? would modifying the xml to have negative numbers make it possible to drop it below 25%?

What my friend here is may be point out is this doesn't touch any ores or other such minables. It doesn't add a new function to the experience, simply removes the luck factor in it. Rework might be a better term though until you make a change to stone cutting or ores.

A higher mining stat providing more cut blocks (at a stone cutting bench) was an addition I was pondering. Additionally you could make skills 15-20 drop cuts blocks instead of chucks or something of that nature.

It's still working only to increase chunk mining yield, isn't it? IDK, I don't think the suggested title omits anything, it's just that, a title, not a full description. At any rate, you could just drop the word "overhaul" and add a "+" to the end of the resulting title, not an uncommon practice over here.

Well, that doesn't do justice either. The mod adds a completely new stat, then scales it with your skill level. A patch for tunnelers also exist. I dunno, would you like a new feature?

Oh, and one thing I added from myself. If you have the Tunneler precept, it'll boost the chance for getting a chunk by additional 10%.

I like this. People with underground and mountain bases might have a few issues with boulders piling up. Personally I enjoy the "realism" of having to clear a mined space of rubble before building and furnishing can commence.
