Can use mine, it's a "little" overpowered but you can nerf it a little in the ship editor. might want to also replace some of the lasers onboard when docked since I've noticed with latest patch it has a habit of putting holes in the ship but a coilgun with laser systems retrofitted in the loader should work as it should've done before full release

I've enjoyed using this sub and I might come back to it and improve it in some spots since I've also been taking the Strumson out for a spin and noticed some of the stuff onboard would go nicely on this sub, as stated by john smith the moon pool could be improved to so the ship doesn't take in water, second i'd say the crafting area could be more compacted with the cases you can craft, as for maximising survival i'll most likely be adding in some fix foam detonators at the front and mid section of the sub which should help in those hard to reach places. but again nice place to start growing crops is in the moon pool section since it's quite nicely tucked away in the corner

Ah, also: the sub moves at 60 km/h, you need to change the Engine's power a lot.
This sub is a lot of fun nontheless, and my time passed in the sub editor to find what was wrong was totally worth it, I have lots of fun with it!

There are some problems with the ducts: you cannot highlight/select them, so if they break, you have to break the walls. It totally bugs bots too.
For the moonpool, you can also use a Xor component to prevent the pump from working when the lever is active, preventing the upstream of water that can trap you for minutes, allowing you to just jump in.
Making the pump in the artifact hold invicible is a must too, since you can't select and thus repair it, so bots keep imprisonning and drowning themselves in there.

yeah i noticed as well they seem to have a habit of cramming themselves in the corner of the main ballast tank which i'm currently looking into now since one of my most liked character's died from "Burning alive" my only conclusion is that they welded themselves to death that or held something explosive.

I love the sub so far and Im currently using it but the AI does seem to have a stroke and flip out at the beginning of a round

Mainly just the tracking of the AI not being able to reach them but you could probably get away with the pumps not taking damage to save time on the tracking, you already know about the ballast tank and the moon pool which I patched in so they wouldn't enter unless needed for repairs. also I installed a safety system into the reactor so it would prevent any meltdowns which I'll be sharing the module with visual instructions to easily wire it up if you choose to install it in current or future subs.

It seems quite nice, alright some of the hull can't get repaired fully due to it being in spots the AI can't reach but I hardly come across the issue enough to the point I need to patch it. my only issue was the pumps that was easy enough to fix. Besides that I hope to see a destroyer or cruiser version of this ship since I like the theme of it Le/Lor

Also little tip for people wanting to grow a farm, the place where the drones are makes a great spot to grow since the pumps keep the room dry and it's out the way from sea water if you don't want to use the drones

This sub is the most annoying one I've played. I know some people like it but eventually you will dislike it because of the engines.

liking the sub and it might be my new favourite, had to do some minor modification on the pumps however since the AI mapping isn't all that great and they'd easily get stuck but overall very nice sub.

Okay, so this is kind of important, none of the ballast rooms are marked as wet-rooms. it makes the AI panic a bit when they notice the rooms are full of water which they think should not be there. This goes for the artifact room as well.

On another note, the engine is so stupidly powerful that the autopilot struggles to plot an efficent course. I fixed this by adding a smaller less powerful engine with a switch at the nav terminal to change between the two

Other than that I am really enjoying the ship. Cheers M8 :kag_tongue:

I would love a ek ship designed for campaign play with empty storage facilities, surplus coilguns and a downwards-facing mining laser to switch out for proper weapons, and an upward heavy hardpoint and empty spinal hardpoint for captains to expand their ships.
A good sub has one standout feature that separates it from the crowd be it autoturrets or being built for pvp or being too small, exc. Most people don't even realize that spinal hardpoints are a thing in the ek mod an ek ship built for campaign would surprise a lot of people

I tried adding EK Dockyards to the required items but it didn't work in game for some reasons, just couldn't let me add it, so It's only in the description. Thanks for telling me about the reloaders being backwards, never noticed that.
I wanted the security and medical jobs to have secure lockers so that they may store stuff that the average crewmember shouldn't have access to without asking, like heavy weapons, or dangerous substances, but it's purely optional and most of the important medical stuff are in the cabinets, like bandages, bloodpacks, etc..
Also, never really thought about the layout of the weapons, I wanted the autocannon on the front to be the main weapon, so in my mind I thought that the pulse lasers wouldn't be used as much and as such wouldn't need as much ammo.
Next time I'll build a submarine I'll use hardpoints instead, so that players can choose whichever weapon they want. Thanks for the feedback, though!

The list of required items doesn't include ek dockyard which the moonpool doesn't work without

It's kind of silly that the captain doesn't have access to the secure locker (medical doctor) by the backwards-facing airlock
Also you got the pulse laser reloaders backwards

Are you sure that the medium SSL and three pulse lasers is a good loadout? The medium SSL will take forever to reload on a ship that already has a railgun and it might be hard to craft enough ammo for three pulse lasers

Alright, so basically whenever I updated the sub in the game the addon itself decided not to update, so even though i updated it like 5 times it was still the first version of the sub. I switched the files that were in the addon manually now, so it SHOULD be updated to the newest version now.

That's weird. I fixed all these issues a few days ago. Are you sure you don't have an older version? Try redownloading the addon, and if that doesn't work I guess I didn't update it the right way.

First thanks for the reply, I don't know if the pump that drains the drone moonpool is hidden or something but I didn't see it anywhere not even in the sub editor! I (crudely) added a pair of pumps I'm not an expert builder but it gets the job done. Also I found myself unable to dock with outposts, so I went in again in the sub editor and found some complicated funny business going on with the wiring so I tried also to make it simpler but it may be something to look out for as well!
Despite these little details you've done an amazing job with the other 99.9% of the sub, cheers!

Hey, I updated the sub yesterday so I'm not sure if you have the right version, but to get the water out of the drone bay you have to hit the lever to close the hatch and a pump will just drain it out automatically, and I'll try fixing the hatch issue today, so if you have an older version of the sub maybe try redownloading it again, see if that work :)

this is probably the best workshop sub I've ever downloaded, I got 2 questions tho: how to get the water out of the drone bay? and I noticed there is maybe a misplaced hull right below the top hatch that leaves a block of floating water on the roof, I know its because it has an odd shape but it would be just perfect if those 2 issues are adressed!
