Thank you very much to the mod author for all their work on this mod, probably pioneering the "unlocking genes" feature in the community (to my knowledge anyway).
What I did was:
-opened the 01_genes_morph.txt file found in /common in the mod directory
-opened the same file found in the game directory
-added the index flags and removed the "visible = no" flags from the game directory's file, matching them up with changes from the mod
-replaced the mod's file from the mod directory with the (now edited) game's file
-left everything else alone
I started the game and checked it out, seemed to work fine without any crazy hair or head morph issues, no crashes yet either. I'll give an update in the comments if I confirm no issues, though I know absolutely nothing about modding so I probably won't upload it to the workshop.
