Considering the rate at which comments are piling up here, the author should:

1) Release the source so those with spare time can get this working again. Otherwise, the people's only choice is to spam the author.

2) Put a big warning at the top of the description that says "deprecated" or "no longer working".

seems that this mod crashes the game when you load your save after the last update now i made a new game with just this mod installed and tried to load it and it poped up and said error then closed the game out

Starting Postiions for Steiner and Kurita are not good. Wehn you start AFTER Invasion then Kurita Startpoint is in Clan Territory :steamfacepalm:

You can use this mod to start advanced , then you need to disable it before you do any missions.Game will keep your start options, but you will avoid crashes. If this one doesn't work that way , one on Nexus will.

I think that there is an issue even with the workaround because as soon as you remove the first pilot in your lance, you will be unable to select another pilot to fill the empty slot which automatically prevents you from launching the mission

Tried the workaround Dalinar917 posted, removed the commander from my game via this mod and sent all the pilots on a merry academy stint of one year... and now I can't start a mission because no one is in the first slot. Any help would be appreciated !

Can confirm the following work around from Dalinar917 works for this mod.

The best work around is to enable it for a fresh career start. Pick or customize the career you want to start. Once in the Leopard save your game, quit, disable the mod and restart your game. When you load in everything should work properly.

For now until (or if) this mod is updated. The best work around is to enable it for a fresh career start. Pick or customize the career you want to start. Once in the Leopard save your game, then disable the mod and restart your game. That's what I did and it worked, I have a custom career started at 3048.

I've noticed that after the DLC"Shadow of Kerensky" update, this mod causes to crash when entering the mission preparation screen after accepted the contract.
But it has no problem in "Instant Action" mode.

Hello, this mod seems to need an update. With it on the new dlc start is not available and i am having crashes. With mode disabled no crashes.

For some reason mechs that shouldn't be invented yet for centuries are available when I pick early start years. I tested with 2000, 2500, 2900, and mechs which shouldn't exist yet are in the mech markets and I even start with some.

any one has an idea on how to use this mod to force a starting lance?
I have see some video off it done to for example have a starting lance consisting off only a legendary mech variant for all 4 mech

It requires Inner Sphere because that DLC adds the custom career campaigns. This mod just adds more options to the campaign that DLC adds.

Winterbloom - yeah that's an annoying limitation in the game engine. Import will always put you at 3015 start.

most annoying bug i could find, if you import and old career, it doesnt change the start date you select, and it forces you to start in house davion every time if you import. even if thats not where the imported save is from.

Would be nice if there could be a Option to start with Medium Mechs. The Option "A Bit More" gets strange results like 2 Assaults and 2 Locusts :Owlcat_sleepless:

Since the latest DLC update. You can turn on this MoD to start the game. Once you're in, make a save game. Go out turn off MoD, restart game. Works fine then.

I don't know if it's been reported but the mod causes a crash when entering the deployment screen prior to mission start since the new update. Took me a while to isolate this because I didn't think the mod had any effect on an existing save game.

Is there any way to set it up so I don't have to start with a junky mech that does no damage like a locust or a vulcan? I'm sick to death of going on my first mission and watching my teammates try to face tank a hunch back in their locusts.

this mod does not change anything about the game itself, just the career start. So, no, mech spawns are not modified.

problems with install. Menu indicates it is installed yet it doesn't function. Menu shows its load order as 0. Other mods listed as active seem to be functioning properly. Any ideas?
