Close mod option "Bot get new weapon".
Loadout Manager not installed.
After that, make sure that there's a Boons 4 Bots entry in the mod menu (F4 by default). If there is, and the options are set to allow bots to get improved weapons, you should be able to see them in the standard Tab menu.
Otherwise, I'd suggest grabbing Boon Manager (linked above) so you can inspect what boons and weapons your bots have in the inventory screen (set hotkeys in Boon Manager to cycle through party members).
Note that bots will only gets boons and weapon upgrades as you do.
If you're in the modded realm, there's a B4B entry in the mod menu, you've gotten a boonand Boon Manager still shows bots have no extra boons, please share a debug log with me if you can (my first comment on Feb. 21, below, describes how to do this).

I subscribed and tested and saw what you did: upgrading a secondary weapon (either through an exchange shrine or an upgrade shrine) causes this error. I just pushed a fix to let these two mods work in harmony - give it a try, and let me know if you still see issues!
To help me fix the crashes you're seeing, can you confirm that you're using the latest version of the mod and then share some more details, either here or directly to me on Discord? (You can find me in the Vermintide Modders server.) Bonus points for getting a log (like the one Vel provided below) with debug prints enabled (you can set this in the VMF options), but I'll need at least the error message and Lua state at the end of an existing log from a crashed run (the sections titled "<<Lua Stack>>", "<<Lua Locals>>", and "<<Lua Self>>"). Here's [vmf-docs.verminti.de] a link with directions to find your logs and the Discord channel.

The error is outside of code that I have access to, though, so it's hard to tell. Just guessing: maybe this is a DLC skin that you don't own? I've heard of some weirdness with WP and weapon chests, so it could be related. Again, though, I'm just guessing :/
For maximum safety until I can get this sorted out, I guess either:
- don't use WP bots, or
- disable weapon upgrades in the Boons 4 Bots options if you want to keep rolling with several WP bots with BTMP - I wouldn't blame you!

If you don't want bots to have certain boons, you can use Boon Manager (https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2734566701 , to view bots' boons) and Ranald's Refund (https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2744131330 , to do the removing) to take away any boons you don't want your bots to have any more.
(For ultimate stability, you can disable bot weapon upgrades entirely in the options, but I haven't gone that far in my own runs.)

Probably the worst part of bots in Chaos Wastes is that they're weak, on top of being dumb
