Hey, we've had our addon out for a while now, we would be glad if you could also add this to the list! https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3070076932

Maybe if we annoy the devs of the game for long enough, they will consider it :D
mylapqn312  [author] 18 May @ 5:00am
Yeah, unfortunately a sound slider is impossible to implement in a Barotrauma mod. The only solution would be to release different versions of this mod where the sound files are louder / quieter, but that would be absolute hell for maintenance and multiplayer / synchronisation :(
CatalystPump 17 May @ 6:02pm
OOF. Read some of your earlier comments on the game's sound design limitations. That sucks! I would love to see a sound rework of this game at some point. It's really close to perfection.
CatalystPump 17 May @ 1:26pm
It's a little too loud for some of my crew. Any chance we could get a separate sound slider for the different effects? If it's tied to the sound effect volume, then that means muting guns, creature noises, etc. if one wants to mute the music. Hope this isn't too much to ask!
mylapqn312  [author] 16 May @ 5:52pm
The music volume is dictated by your setting for the sound effects volume. Perhaps you have it set really low?
It's very, very quiet for me and not sure why.
Gipka 19 Apr @ 7:53am
Nvm, Snubby was right. Forgot to use a wrench :steamfacepalm:
Snubby 19 Apr @ 1:00am
Are you sure you didn't simply attach it to a wall ? You need to remove it with a wrench, and give it a signal with wires to make it play.
mylapqn312  [author] 18 Apr @ 7:12pm
Could be related to the new update... is it throwing any errors?
Gipka 18 Apr @ 2:58pm
Cassette player once put down cannot be picked back up, also does not play music
mylapqn312  [author] 19 Mar @ 9:46am
Sounds great! Thanks for contributing
Snubby 18 Mar @ 10:57am
I'm working on an add-on that will allow players to put cassettes in without picking up the player, and add a shouldered version so you don't place it down so easily. I'll put it up on the github once it's ready, in case you'd like to just merge it in !
mylapqn312  [author] 16 Mar @ 3:13pm
Thank you! Nice suggestion :)

Country Roads would make a great addition. I am impressed with the list of some of these songs. Didnt expect some of them
mylapqn312  [author] 24 Feb @ 10:06pm
Also this would require re-encoding all the actual audio files to mono channel, and all add-on authors would need to do the same for proper compatibility.
That being said, if there's significant support for this change, I can look at implementing it!
mylapqn312  [author] 24 Feb @ 9:53pm
To be clear, making the sounds have shorter range is indeed possible just fine - but due to quirks with this game's sound system, it has the significant tradeoff that all sounds would become directional and you'd only ever hear them in exclusively one ear (depending on where the sound is coming from), which is great for locating mudraptor growls but imo gets pretty annoying with music.
People I tested this with preferred having the music in both ears rather than having it short ranged. Maintaining a separate version of the mod with directional sounds would of course be possible, but it's a solution I'd rather avoid.
I hope this at least clarifies why things work the way they do. Frankly the best solution would be if the devs of Barotrauma just updated the game to better support stereo sounds - but I doubt that's gonna happen :D
Azi Karnage 24 Feb @ 9:53am
Default range shouldnt be the whole level, atleast vanilla musical items certainly arent
Snubby 23 Feb @ 7:19pm
unfortunely the range of audio is determinted per song, not by the instrument. So I really doubt there would be such a mod, because you would have to override every song item, and any mod would still use the default range probably...
Azi Karnage 23 Feb @ 7:14pm
Is there a version of this with shorter range, I am looking for music mods for my map but you can hear someone playing guitar from a mile off with this one which sucks because this is otherwise the best music mod
mylapqn312  [author] 18 Feb @ 11:33am
Believe me, we tried this in every possible way a few versions back... Barotrauma handles detach input keys kinda confusingly, and switching them around always results in a bug where you can't rewire it as a result :/
Snubby 18 Feb @ 6:32am
Probably best to set the detach speed to something very fast, or make it detachable by hand, or make the attaching key E rather than left click...
FLupp1 18 Feb @ 5:31am
the only thing i dislike is that you can accidently weld the boombox on the sub and have to screw it loose again, otherwise, we had a blast with all the music stuff, realy nice stuff man.
mylapqn312  [author] 13 Feb @ 4:09pm
@horolhorolhorol first find a cassette for it (see a few comments below, they're acquired the same way as music sheets), instert it into the cassette player, and just hold the player in your hand or drop it on the ground! It will play automatically
horolhorolhorol 11 Feb @ 7:06am
How can I use cassette player?
mylapqn312  [author] 17 Jan @ 2:53pm
Thank you, added to description!
Cowabunga 16 Jan @ 1:31pm
I've added an addon that adds lyrical and instrumental music, game radio stations, radio theater, and sound affects https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3405646978&searchtext=rimm
mylapqn312  [author] 26 Dec, 2024 @ 2:28pm
@Lykoro I'm currently not very active in modding, so the other mod's creators would probably need to work on the compatibility. It should be just a matter of adding the relevant item data to their instruments, and potentially creating new RIMM music sheets for them if they have custom music. Hope that helps
Lykoro 25 Dec, 2024 @ 7:38am
Is it possible to make a compatiblity update with Baroverhaul's Instrument?
mylapqn312  [author] 21 Dec, 2024 @ 4:44pm
@Darklight720 You have to acquire a note sheet for the chorus book - they can be found in wrecks or bought in stores - then insert the note sheet into the chorus book, equip the book and hold right click/aim and left click/use simultaneously. This is the same for every music instrument apart from the cassette player.
Darklight720 20 Dec, 2024 @ 7:07pm
Hey, how does one use the chorus books?
Thanks in advance
Kameha 6 Dec, 2024 @ 4:38am
Requires more undertale.. man.
mylapqn312  [author] 15 Oct, 2024 @ 4:46pm
I listed your addon in the description! Thanks for submitting the link :)
niko oneshot 15 Oct, 2024 @ 9:59am
i just published my addon, can it be added to the description?

niko oneshot 14 Oct, 2024 @ 9:45am

niko oneshot 14 Oct, 2024 @ 9:45am

Ӆᶓᵮᶏᶉᶖơцʂ~}God{~ 19 Sep, 2024 @ 11:16pm
still works
mylapqn312  [author] 8 Aug, 2024 @ 2:44pm
That would be great, but unfortunately it is currently impossible (not without an excessive amount of scripting at least)
<†>Baigle1<†>™ 8 Aug, 2024 @ 5:24am
Useful if the game had a separate volume slider for music rather than having it get washed out with background noise at an audibly distinctive level
ragemode101 9 Jul, 2024 @ 1:52pm
Nice!
mylapqn312  [author] 9 Jul, 2024 @ 11:01am
Thanks for the suggestion, I like it! I don't update the mod often these days, but when I do, it'll be there :)
ragemode101 7 Jul, 2024 @ 5:22pm
2033 not 2034, my bad
ragemode101 7 Jul, 2024 @ 1:34am
I would like to recommend the metro 2034 main theme for the guitar if it's not already in
mylapqn312  [author] 17 Jun, 2024 @ 5:03am
It's technically also possible to make the range more "normal" by making all the sound files mono instead of stereo. However, this would also result in the songs always being played in only one ear, depending on where the instrument is. The current idea is that the global range is a worthy tradeoff for being able to listen with both ears (which is far more enjoyable in my opinion)
Snubby 9 Jun, 2024 @ 11:26pm
Not possible without making the songs much quieter, no. If you want more control over sound muffling, you can try Soundproof Walls, it has settings you can further fiddle with !
DGPlayzit 9 Jun, 2024 @ 7:08pm
Is it possible to make it so the range on the music isn't global? People can hear the music that's being played from outside the ship and anywhere inside, regardless of where it's being played.
mylapqn312  [author] 8 Jun, 2024 @ 2:30am
There is no Lua or any other scripts in this mod
