Would you be okay with me working on this and sharing it as an unofficial update? I’d of course give full credit to you as the original creator.
So... basically a tantrum.
I don't understand why the mod is still listed though. It should be removed altogether (alongside other outdated/dead mods)
In my opinion, this should be fixed by weakening the event after a certain time of 10 years in peace. For example, from 0.75 corruption back to 0.50 and so on. Or something else with which you can counteract so that you can remove this event. Because it is VERY unrealistic that in a state is permanently so high corruption, if the state has the political will to fight this. And to counteract this with state houses is not a solution.
The event greatly reduces the popularity and potential of the mod.
I hope that this will be changed somehow. Greetings
The mod is really great and I like it a lot. But the Endemic Corruption is a real punishment for the player for his expansion. In my game with Byzantine I currently earn about 150 gold per month, of which about 100 gold for corruption alone go with an Endemic Corruption value of 0.70 Corruption. This really ruins the fun of playing with the MOD and this event damages the MOD immensely. For me, the Endemic Corruption Event, is the worst in the whole mod. I think they had a certain realism in mind with this event. But that the event lasts the whole game and even gets worse, makes the whole game fun kaput.
Really heartbreaking to learn that it will never get updated.
For the record, mods like LiT have also gone dormant in large part because of Paradox's failures. It is just pitiful how many dedicated fans and players Paradox drove away with its own greed and incompetence.
If someone would like to continue using DG's resources themselves to create their own mod, they're welcome to do so, but I had already given up on EU4 as of January.
It is frankly embarrassing how much EU4 has been broken and ruined by both poor coding and an almost malevolent implementation of features no one asked for, such as concentrate development, tribal development, expand administration, and the natives in Oceania. Undoubtedly many of these features contributed to the bugginess of 1.31 and succeeding patches, and it is honestly insulting how much the game would be improved if Tinto devs just didn't touch and break things they cannot understand. Instead we just get more worthless DLC bloat.
If you want to see some spaghetti code, go into vanilla, and you will find that if you are full occupied at any point you cease to pay interest on loans as long as you remain at war afterward. This bug broke a multiplayer game we played because someone could not go bankrupt.
Also, ever since 1.32, if you make a tributary while you are at war, the tributary will join your ongoing wars.
This, on top of the fact that AI is about the least functional it's ever been in EU4, literally randomly turning off at times in 1.33, just settles the fact that EU4 is a dead game for me.
There won't be an update. I've ceased to mod EU4, the game is dead because the developers of EU4 have broken it past 1.31, never fixed a good amount of the bugs, and worse introduced new ones and terrible "optimizations" in 1.33 such as the inability to read how much debt you have and the horrible map mode changes.
I've uninstalled EU4 and I probably will not be playing it again.
i would really like to play a vanilla game with this map due to my low end pc
its really cool
- All dev is not equal. Dev shouldn't be equal when counting toward the dev thresholds of corruption gain. The ottomans, ruling over many different cultures and religions, shouldn't be equally affected by dev as an unified France.
- Rampant colonization of German and dutch minors is very obnoxious and should be dealt with.
- Inflation really should matter more. One of the reasons the Spanish Empire declined is due to its over-reliance on gold and silver. Inflation should increase dramatically if too much of your income is generated by gold, i.e if it is a certain percentage of tax and production income.
- As others have said, the mod is severely slowed down by the sheer amount of provinces. Can more be done to optimize it?
- Ming is appropriately hampered by a few mechanics and modifiers to facilitate a collapse later on in the game. However, the Indian nations are supremely strong, and don't seem to have any obstructions. In my game, Delhi became an unstoppable blobber with by far the strongest military and the best economy. Any plans for mechanics enabling an European takeover?
