D:\steam\steamapps\workshop\content\823910 maybe hlep you

Step 4: You can use the built-in search bar in the Windows system to search for the file [InstallModManagerDirectly.exe] and then execute it.

You should be able to find this search bar in the upper right corner of the folder
Kimayato 11 Jul @ 1:48am
In fact, you can use the game "content" of STEAM to enter the game's MOD inventory. I will go home and type out the specific steps. I am slacking off at work now.

You should probably note that you need to run the game after subscribing for the file referenced in step 4 to exist.
HalcyonAndOn 21 Aug, 2024 @ 11:53am
I think, since not everyone will be familiar with command line (the ..\..\ at the start, many wont know what that is and assume it's not needed is my guess), it's better to word the 4th step something like:

Copy and paste this into the location bar (make sure this is the only line in the location bar **do not skip this**).

Works perfectly though, thanks for this.
lirmont  [author] 28 Jul, 2024 @ 6:46pm
The workshop folder has never been located in the Last Evil local files. Step 3 tells you to go there because step 4's path is relative to that location . A relative path is used because I can't reasonably know where everyone's Steam install is, but I can reasonably know the layout of most Steam installations. If you are walking the path in step 4 manually rather than using it as directed to immediately run the executable, you should be reading the start of it as: "Go up two directories from the current directory". To facilitate that, there's an up arrow button immediately to the left of the location bar you can press twice (or you can press ALT+Up twice).
Aeden 28 Jul, 2024 @ 11:43am
The workshop folder is no longer located in the Last Evil local files, it is now in steamapps. It took me a while to find "InstallModManagerDirectly.exe."
Dragonhartlives 20 May, 2024 @ 9:56pm
the mod manager and other downloaded mods dont appear for me in its stated file location. the Workshop folder itself isnt even there
Hyuni_01 8 Feb, 2024 @ 4:06am
Thanks for kindful Installation Infos and tons of mods.
Gotta playthrough this game with much more joyful mods, cheers :NB_RANGER_NOTE:

I'd like to retract my previous statement. Mod Manager started working again, just as randomly as it stopped
lirmont  [author] 5 Feb, 2024 @ 4:05pm
@farhood3000: Sounds like a situation where something didn't get downloaded completely or an antivirus program grabbed stuff to quarantine. I'd try unsubscribing and resubscribing first. If it still fails, you probably need to use the Google drive installation instructions. If installing it that way doesn't immediately work (or you aren't on Windows), try picking the "Assembly" method instead of the doorstop proxy one.
farhood3000 5 Feb, 2024 @ 3:49pm
when installing:
winhttp dll: NOT FOUND

what should i do?
Ponga! 21 Jan, 2024 @ 7:45am
doesn't work anymore, apparently game updated
lirmont  [author] 22 Nov, 2023 @ 5:59am
@Hex: Unfortunately, the game isn't set up that way, and Steam workshop doesn't let me or anyone else automatically run installation actions (for good reason). What platform are you on?
Hex 22 Nov, 2023 @ 12:08am
After 6 hours nothing works... why is this so difficult? Shouldn't workshop be click and play XD

Everything is installed. mono the mod manager yet no button and F10 does nothing either
UnexpectedBSOD 22 Sep, 2023 @ 1:57am
@lirmont Thanks a lot! <3

Is there a HowTo or tutorial about developing mods for this?
lirmont  [author] 22 Aug, 2023 @ 4:23am
@Proplayer3185: the second image has numbered steps with highlighted important parts. All files and folders on your computer are uniquely identified by a file path. You're being given a relative file path. Using a relative file path allows you to reach one file from the location of another. This relative file path is intended to be used from the location Steam drops you at after you right-click the game entry, go to "Manage", then click "Browse local files". You can replace steps 3 and 4 with a generic file search for "InstallModManagerDirectly.exe". Steam (for good reason) doesn't allow auto-run actions on community posted content, so you've got to go do that (however you choose to do so).
Proplayer3185 21 Aug, 2023 @ 9:54pm
bruh what do I do for step 4 it idk where to put that or if you tryna show me a code
星流之海 15 Aug, 2023 @ 7:47am
I can open the manager by pressing CTRL+F10,but no mod there although I have already subscribed some mods
lirmont  [author] 11 Jul, 2023 @ 2:36am
@Sagil: check the folder the workshop item executable is in. It unpacks everything, makes its changes, then copies it over. Understand that having it as a workshop item is mostly to cover if the Google Drive link goes down and for people who don't have access to it due to firewalls (of which, there have been a lot over the years).

There's a discussion post on the main Discussions area that suggests you just run that program (not this installer) with mono, pick install as assembly, and it will apparently work. I can't vouch for it myself, but it might be a way forward.

As for running the game not working from this workshop item, the application just makes a command line call to run the steam executable with the ID of the game. I suppose they may have changed that with their updates lately, but it could also be Steam isn't on a global path in your environment (which is understandable but would mean I'd have to rewrite the program to go find that executable/binary too).
Sagil 11 Jul, 2023 @ 1:10am
Thanks, tried those instructions and a whole bunch of other things, but no luck. My best guess is that it tries to install files in the wrong proton/wine environment (could observe this for Params.xml). If all that's required is some file overwrites, do you perhaps have a list that I could try manually?
lirmont  [author] 10 Jul, 2023 @ 8:16pm
@Sagil: a page or two of comments back has some alternate directions from warmos that might be of help. I should probably copy them into a discussion thread for easy access.
Sagil 10 Jul, 2023 @ 7:57pm
I've tried installing the Mod Manager under linux - I can get InstallModManagerDirectly.exe to run using wine and it claims successful installation, but running the game from it won't work and the Mod Manager button won't show up when starting it via Steam (ctrl-F10 doesn't work either). Screenshot below - any ideas?

Sad Robot 6 Jul, 2023 @ 5:56pm
@lirmont Thanks! Strangely, after removing and reinstalling, it's worked flawlessly since then. But I'll keep the CTRL+F10 shortcut in mind if I have the problem again.
m4xat 6 Jul, 2023 @ 7:12am
@lirmont thank you!!
lirmont  [author] 6 Jul, 2023 @ 6:00am
Try CTRL+F10 in-game to open the window.
Sad Robot 6 Jul, 2023 @ 3:33am
I was able to open the installed Mod Manager exactly one time. And now it won't open for me.
m4xat 6 Jul, 2023 @ 2:44am
I have done the process in the description field and the "Mod Manager" button appears, but when I click on it, I only hear a sound and the window does not appear.
I tried reinstalling the game and the mods, but nothing changed.

Does anyone know why?

3.14 25 May, 2023 @ 6:52pm
@lirmont: no worries, the steamdeck runs on Linux so I think there should be some way to work-around, perhaps @warmos would have some solutions?
lirmont  [author] 25 May, 2023 @ 4:37am
@3.14: the game pre-dates steamdeck as far as I'm aware. This approach is only meant to accomplish the task on Windows operating systems. There may be some directions/alternate steps you can take in the comments, but I don't have a steamdeck to test them on. Sorry for the inconvenience.
3.14 25 May, 2023 @ 3:15am
@lirmont: Hi, i tried using this mod on steamdeck, done all the steps you addressed but launching Last Evil didn't show "Mod Manager". I don't know what I did wrong thou since I followed all the steps correctly
lirmont  [author] 16 May, 2023 @ 4:10pm
@hedonepet: If you're pasting what you quoted, you're missing the first 5 characters. They're important. They tell the operating system: "Go up a directory. Then, go up another directory." As far as I know, Steam (rightly) doesn't let me or anyone else run installation actions on subscription. So you've got to find and run the file that gets downloaded yourself. If you're having trouble, maybe just do a file search for "InstallModManagerDirectly.exe".
hedonepet 16 May, 2023 @ 12:52pm
I'm completely new to using the Workshop & I don't understand how to install this... I've followed the instructions, but when I browse local files & paste "\workshop\content\823910\2682032040\InstallModManagerDirectly.exe" into the location bar, I get a popup error message that Windows can't find it. Can anyone offer me any help on what I'm doing wrong?
lirmont  [author] 26 Apr, 2023 @ 1:56am
@KolyaEnder: I had plans at one point to add an option to this installer that would install something called BepInEx, which would let you look around and manipulate the Unity scenes and game assets while the game is running. I think having access to that would probably need to happen before alternate poses and animations could be developed. Then the animation would have to be made/recorded/stored in a file. If all of that were done, the animation would still have to be used in the context of the approach the game uses (to have sound effects and all the other playback features).
KolyaEnder 25 Apr, 2023 @ 8:24pm
Is adding new scenes a possibility I love your mods and the game, I honestly just want some footjob/ feet content
UncleBlackCat 23 Apr, 2023 @ 9:40pm
GOOD
yai200439 15 Mar, 2023 @ 4:38am
The workshop file directory is not created even when I scribed other mods.
berserki 27 Nov, 2022 @ 12:36am
@warmos I tried this on steam deck and now the game wont start from gaming mode. Launching from desktop mode doesnt show mod manager.
warmos 17 Nov, 2022 @ 7:02am
For linux replace the third and fourth step by this:
In terminal navigate to workshop folder of this mod:

cd /home/USERNAME/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/workshop/content/823910/2682032040

then run it with wine on the protons prefix:

WINEPREFIX=/home/USERNAME/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/823910/pfx wine InstallModManagerDirectly.exe

Now continue as described in mod description. NOTE: do not run the game directly from the mod manager as it will use your systems wine and not proton

Also, dont fotget to replace USERNAME for your username in linux

@Basic: lots of different projects are involved. The main project's repository is linked to in the "Technical Details About How to Patch Unity Mod Manager for Last Evil" discussion thread. That repository links out to the 7 other projects used. You can inspect the DLLs (and the EXE in this workshop item) that come with the mods via ILSpy (or similar programs); the code is not obfuscated/virtualized on purpose (which means you can read it as-is, but you'll need to link out to the game's directory for the Unity DLLs for completeness in ILSpy, since those are dynamically linked to from the mod DLLs at runtime).
Basic 13 Oct, 2022 @ 4:56pm
I'm a little leery of injecting unknown code into processes. Do you host the source anywhere public?
lirmont  [author] 13 Jun, 2022 @ 3:31pm
@SkiesBorder: In game, does CTRL+F10 do anything?
_Skies 13 Jun, 2022 @ 2:36pm
Action Result says success however theres no mod manager button ingame @lirmont
