Mostly working in 1.14.2.2. Can adopt a secret religion and attempt to convert others, but the event where you reveal your secret religion is broken. Is there any chance of an update please?

The latest dlc gave me back a little bit of interest in this game, so the mod has now been updated.
Update:
- fix underlying mechanics to work with secret religion mechanics that are now in the base game
- remove some things that are now handled by similar things in the base game

It looks like they added something similar to this mod in the latest dlc. I'll take a closer look later but I'll probably end up freezing this mod for use by people who don't want to update their game version.

MindfreakxPink when you're pressed to join another religion you should get the option, if someone declares a holy war then you should have the option to convert to settle a white peace

No. I don't want to touch other game mechanics and reduce compatibility with other mods. Plus it wouldn't be very secret if you started building/using a cathedral to your secret religion on its holy site.

Update: You can now use your Spymaster to convert provinces to your secret religion, if you convert them first. This however is slower than regular conversion and risks getting found out by the county holder.
Also, with the expanded travel and activity options even without dlc, you can now suggest secret conversion to almost anyone so long as can you get them to be in the same location as you.

Passing by to report that the mod works well, it would be possible to add the ck2 mechanic, to which it is possible to interact with the character's secret religion. Ex: The Character is Catholic, but is secretly Cathar, so I must have interactions with the secret religion in a hidden way, while I have interactions with the professed false religion.

This would take the mod to an entirely higher level, would it be possible?

This is great, I've been missing secret faiths from CK2. May I have permission to include this in my mod Rajas of Indochina? I want to also reuse this in order to have secondary faiths.

The main problem for compatibility with this patch is the culture overhaul. Smaller mods that do not touch culture have a good chance of working fine.
Anyway I tested this mod a bit and it seems to have no issues so I updated the compatibility flag to 1.5.*.

Major update: The underlying implementation of the secret has been changed to be easier to work with and more easily combine with Sanctioned False Conversion. For players, changes include that characters can no longer be "potentially" false converts but have to choose to get the secret or not, and that the AI may choose to falsely convert under some circumstances.
This is a breaking change, which is why I've been sitting on it for a while. (With Royal Court coming out on tuesday, saves will be broken anyway.)

I see a lot of opportunities in this mod. I'm playing norse in my current game. I took aducy next to a feudal kingdom. Then I adopted christianity and swear fealty that kingdom. After converting to the feudal system, I confessed that I did not actually convert. Then he wanted to take my title.
We fought, and now I'm an independent Jarl. 10/10

You're doing it right, Harald. I think this is something basic that shouldn't be locked behind red tape to have. I personally wish it had been like this from the start so we can try to revive dead religions or reform without being hunted down by everyone.

its your mod, but IMO, I think it should only happen if you have a courtier with cryptoreligious secret or is a different religion and you can get an event where that courtier (if they're your friend, wife etc or has certain traits like zealotry) comes to you in an attempt to convert you

500 Piety is not enough of a cost for only yourself* and only a religion you can find an existing adherent of? I could make it more expensive but I want people to be able to start their run with it without too much trouble as it's not something you can add in ruler designer.

*even if you can ask them later, converting others to your secret religion is harder and riskier than normal conversion to a public one

Nice work , work's pretty well :) ! Could be nice to add a choice to form a sect ? kinda ? Like If you have converted at least 4 of your vassals have been switched to your crypto-faith you gain the heresiarch trait ? Just an idea :D . Either way , great work !
