As a Finnish person, I enjoy this effect.

I like it but 2 suggestions both pertaining to the vertical colored moving parts.

They should move slower.
There should be less of them
They should be able to move around left to right, slowly, before fading. The fade should be a downwards or upwards slide, that mimics actual northern lights appearance

So I think with some minor tweaks, this could be a really neat effect. Slow it down, more 'gaseousness', less of the vertical pieces.
