@Benzin: Thanks for letting me know. Unfortunately, I won't be working on any X mods any time soon.

Unfortunately, it doesnt seem to work fully on 4.3. Only some dialogs are supressed. It does shut off the "show me your wares" one, but not others like "show me your skills".

Does it work with 4.3?

@ bioscmos303 I have created this mod two years ago and stopped maintaining it not long after. Sorry, if it's no longer working. I'm not working on any X:R mods at the moment.

I've actually been working on something which provides similar functions as this mod. My mod-kung-fu is not strong though, so it might suck, or might not get finished.

Nope. It hasn't been updated since last year and I don't intend to work on it.

hrm... noticing a lot of NPCs being mean when you speak to them instead of nice greetings I get a loathed greeting, and it's from ones that aren't listed there janda.

This mod does not work anymore for architects, engineers, marines, shiptraders, specialists and staff.
But it is still safe to use if you don't mind the errormessages in the log file.

Is there a chance you can please add an option to turn of the voice in the repeative chat minigame? The old plugin I used no longer works with 3.0..sadly.

Think about the old X3 , how armature is this. Man, I am so disappointed, This is so bad I could ask for my cash back. The graphics are just amazing and in some areas it has improved really nice - but you don't cut away your basics on what the game runs on. Changing spaceships like the old x3 was a necessity and engosoft failed on that. & How can you navigate through space without a map you can make a marker on?? IDIOTS, who designed this poor navigation map on x rebirth ? He needs a slap. Poor game, sigh - could have so much potential as usual with these genre of games.

Dasgroose15, actually Yisha doesn't really bother me (yet). There is a Yisha mod on nexusmod that has an option to remove her completely or just remove her voice. Maybe that works for you? (I would propose mod option 4, which seems to be the most compatible one.)

Smakkz, I totally agree. I also don't understand why the npc's are rude without any particular reason. You'll be happy to notice that with today's update I changed some of that rude behavior and also made Ren shut up more. Also check out my other mod Radio Silence.

Atrocious: This is a godsend for my sanity.

Voice acting have never been seen as one of the X series strongest sides, but in Rebirth it's mentally grating. I would be okay if it were normal talking. Like "Commander?" and that stuff, but the rude and strange comments puts me off. It feels like someone drunk wrote the script.

Aeoliar, I've found a way to replace only the necessary code and it works. Will test a bit more and release a mod for it in the next days.

Hope to see it soon. It would save my ears, my time and my mind ;)

Aeoliar, yes that would be possible, but it always depends on the location of the phrase. I just made a prototype and it worked, but in your example the commands are in a huge block of code. I do not want to replace the whole block so I can maintain compatibility with other mods.
If I find a solution for a less invasive way, I will make a second mod for things like this.

@Guam Fever: Yeah, I know what you mean. As long as it's not as repetitive as the trading stuff I can bear with it though. A mod that removes all his voice acting would probably conflict with too many other things.

@Kestrel Hudson: You're welcome. It's actually a very simple mod. I was wondering why it wasn't already done.

We really need a mod that replaces all of Ren's audio (which is by and large the worst voice acting and script writing I've ever seen or heard in a modern game) with entirely new audio from some other voice actor. Anyone. Some guy off the street that is unpaid and simply reads the lines with no understanding of the context would be an improvement. The first time he opened his mouth, I was like, "this is the worst acting I've ever heard and the guy has to be intentionally trying to sabotage the game."

Is it supposed to work with previous saves? I'm still saying "Show me your wares, please" and it irritates the hell out of me. Either way, I'm sure a new game will work and I'll try it soon. Regardless, +1 for a great idea and perfect image for the mod :)
