huh, wow haha
Personally I use both fine and haven't had a fatal issue or seen anything necessarily conflicting between the two. Recommend for whatever weird issue is coming up to use chat gpt, copy and paste your log error or multiple log errors you are getting and ask chatgpt what this log error(s) is because of. Maybe say any other details too that might help. It does a fantastic job telling you right away usually what the problem is. Funny enough chat gpt is a lifesaver with even rimworld modding haha.
The two are not currently compatible by design, look further in the comments and threads this has been a huge discussion asking for compatibility between this mod and intimacy.
Any idea if it's this mod or other or something else I might have missed?
Both mods add a new core need for pawns and base their features around it. They represent slightly different things, bot overall are mutually redundant. Keeping both would be bloat and bad for performance, while merging them into one would require redesigning the entire approach and balance of both mods.
That's why i doubt it's ever going to happen.
Intimacy's main benefit is easy management of polygamies. Without it, you'd need mods that either add beds for 3+ people, or routines for swapping bed owners every night. Intimacy lets you impregnate all your wives equally without headache.
Aside from that, it isn't very useful. Sure, it's gooning flavor, hooray, but it doesn't actually add a whole lot of meaningful stuff aside from the above.
While the point of both mods is that pawns drop their jobs to walk half across to map to hang out with their partner, Intimacy disrupts your schedules a lot more, since they also walk to bed on top of it, lovin' itself also takes a quite a bit of time.
That's why decide beforehand on the theme of your playthrough and enable the right mods ahead of time. If you want a normal run with normal couples only, Romance on the Rim will provide more meaningful flavor. If you want a polygamy-themed run, like being stranded on an island in the middle of the ocean with only 1 guy and 4 females, then Intimacy makes a lot more sense.
What is the incompatibility is what I am curious about if something could help me out. Because I'll just go ahead and use them all 3 together anyways if it is not really a problem and it is relatively low-risk.
