Quick update, I also tried enabling the perk remover mod and removing Gold is Forever while it wasn't in the pool, the game handled it just fine and spawned the perk on the ground. I'm pretty sure that mod uses code from the altar so you're almost certainly fine.

It looks like it *should* work with a run in progress. I started a new one with cheat sheet, gave myself gold is forever, then enabled Wormhole wallet with all the gold perks disabled. I still had the perks and the mod still worked. I haven't tested it with the altar but I'm sure it's fine, it's only programmed to remove those perks from the pool that spawns at altars without actually removing them from the game.

I will note, the gold pickup code only runs when gold is dropped, so existing nuggets that are already in your world won't be picked up upon load-in.

Will this work with a run in progress? I have so many perks I'm worried the altar will just crash the game if I use it to remove forever gold.

Yeah, I'm aware the 100% default is maybe too high to consider it a quality-of-life mod. 100% means the full value of every nugget is sent straight to you, so you'll get everything, even off-screen trick kills and money you wouldn't normally bother picking up. It adds up to a lot.

I've found that somewhere between 50 and 60% makes for a better balance, you'll end up with about as much money as vanilla and spend less time collecting it, which was my original intent with this mod.

is it just me but does 100% "default" still feel like im earning way too much? i feel as if 100% should be the same as base game and lowering the setting should = harder game and increasing should = easier game. or am i going crazy? lol

Tested for the bug.

Methodology: Enabled only wormhole wallet and cheatgui. Spawned 4 "haxx" wands, several copies of stronger levitation. Inside the mountain, held space and spawned 100 copies of chainsaw. Since cheatGUI doesn't add sideways momentum to spells when spawned, they line up pixel-perfectly. Picked up all 100 copies, shift+clicking each inventory-full into a wand as soon as they were picked up.

Results: Was not able to reproduce the bug, all 100 copies of the spell were retained.

If you are sure wormhole wallet was the cause, please use cheatgui to reproduce the issue. Record using the ingame feature or external software. Upload to youtube or steam community, then link here. Until then, I will treat this issue as resolved.

Basically i had a chonky amount of spells all in the same location, you could even say pixel-perfectly overlapping and then i stood on them. By chonky u meant 4 pages worth. So basically near a hundred.

@TheK0tYaRa If you can share steps to reproduce the issue I'll look into it. Truthfully, since my mod doesn't do anything spell-related I'm doubtful that my mod is causing spells to disappear - but assuming you can demonstrate that Wormhole Wallet is at fault and that this is a reproducible bug, I'll look into it.

At 100%, I never ever needed money until I was buying tons of spells at the work. (and also, trick blood money becomes incredible, especially when you start stacking the Trick blood greeds)
I'll try 33% for both values.

Bug report received, I'm sorry I've been to busy to check every day. Just opened the game up and did some rerolls with classic mode and everything disabled, found useless perks still spawned. I'll start working on it and probably have a patch out in the next 24 hours. I really should have done more testing, haha. Thanks!

Hey SkyeBirb, regardless of what mode or settings I use in-game, I'm still finding the "useless" perks showing up in the perk pool. I'm able to reproduce it with a mod list that includes ALIEN, as well as a more barebones setup with just this mod and CheatGUI (to quickly re-roll temple perks). Thanks in advance for looking into this, love the mod!

I'm just going to guess that I can't make it a perk for the same reasons that you have to restart the game to apply setting changes. All of this implementation is done on game startup and making those changes to the code mid-run could be difficult or impossible. I'll look into it tomorrow, probably, and see what can be done, but I'm not feeling all that optimistic about it.

I think it would be amazing to add an option for this to replace the gold is forever perk. So its not on by default.

I don't know if you still care about this mod, but it would be really cool, at least if there was an option, for this to simply be what the attract gold perk is, or for there to be an option that this is it's own perk that you can find in holy mountains rather than starting with it, as a balance option. As of right now I'd probably never take attract gold, but this would make it extremely valuable to do so, while also not breaking early game progression.

What ? You get healed randomely from trick blood money ? Reduce the amount of heal to 0.3 or something if you feel guilty and want some challenge ...don't worry, the amount of anavoidable chip damage the game throw at you is stupid anyway.

I believe I've found the problem.

What's happening is called a circular reference. If you've used Excel and tried to use a formula to make two cells constantly reference each other, you'll know that this is a problem.

In my definition for the behavior of how money is dropped, I reference the item pickup function.

In his definition for the item pickup function (called when you use the shop sell button), he references how money is dropped, which then references item pickup, which then references how money is dropped, and so on. Great recipe for a crash.

In my testing, I tried removing the code from Shop Machines that asks money to drop. This did stop the crashing, but it also, kinda. Made the whole thing pointless.

As of now, I don't really know exactly what to do here. But I'll do some brainstorming once my headache fades. Again, thank you so much!

Hello Malomy!

Any time a chest drops gold, it will still spawn in the world. This is regardless of the type of chest; for whatever reason, it uses different code that i haven't figured out how to change.

As for the Shop Machines mod, I'll go take a look at it and see what might be going wrong there. Thank you for the report!

Hello, for some reason your mod and the "Shop machines" mod seem to hate each other because it consistently crashes if i try to sell a wand using the other mod, no idea why. It also seems to not pick up on the treasure rain event from great treasure chests, although i don't know if the treasure rain counts as chests's gold drops.

@Bunungo hey man I think I found a bug! It seems like when treasure chests drop gold, rather than getting ALL the gold, I just automatically get 10 gold, like a single nugget drop from an enemy.

Kojin, thank you so much for your kind words. It means a lot to me that you and - wow, three thousand others are enjoying my work.

I'd like to let you know that there is still a way to get steam achievements, a github application called Steam Achievement Manager. (It can also remove achievements, which is my primary use for it if I'm restarting a game I haven't played in a while)

Let me make it clear that I don't endorse using it to get achievements you have not earned, but if you are using mods that have no or little impact on gameplay, I believe any milestones you pass are achievements you deserve to have. Use within reason, obviously.

Noita is a beautiful one of a kind game that was programmed by people who have literally 0 idea what makes their own game fun.

Modders like you provide people with the ability to fix some of the most egregiously stupid things in this unique game.

If the only cost is that steam achievements and shitty fans think im "cheating" because
I fundamentally disagree that money should despawn and wands shouldn't be tinkered with outside of holy mountains; than so be it.

Hello, thanks for your feedback. Unfortunately, it's not *currently* compatible with ALIEN, but I'll see how it works and figure out if I can add support. As for ardi's comment, I'll add a setting (hopefully within a day or 2) to set a multiplier to how much money you'll earn and default it to 0.5. It'll stay as-is until I push the update.
