So far my only issue is some of the ocean tiles are not connected despite the map seeming like it should be. [130 - 81, 142 - 113 , 1 - 19 are ones i've spotted]
This map is basically an image, you can find it in mod folder. It's around 1GB in size, but you can make it smaller with gimp/photoshop or other image editors.
I have no idea how it would look printed.
I was wondering if you have any lower resolution images around of the entire map. I'm running a tabletop group and ive been itching to running Dominions as a tabletop with players as allied pretenders. I'd love to use your map.
I could also take screens I guess in game now that i think about it, lol.
@Classical Scholar Have fun, hopefully you enjoy it.
because it combines nice visuals with proper territory borders and connections. all while being not so insane in size that you wonder if you ever will meet more then your direct neighbors.
Nope.
if you have future projects, would be cool Middle age, and late.
I really can't recommend my mod in description enough for long campaigns. It makes growth scale much weaker. In 100 turn my capital was around 34 000pop, it would be at least double in vanilla, which would lead to bloated income, biggger armies and longer turn times and more grind even though my weekend campaign was fairly grindy. Maybe when setting up the game - lower magic sites, maybe gold income, maybe lower difficulty so it's less grindy, maybe lower requirements for throne victory is someone eventually wins.
I come from Total War games, it's common practice for me to enjoy these games even though I haven't finish one campaigns yet in thousands of hours played.
Some people suggested that I focus on smaller map, but that just isn't what I wanted to create. Unique capitals is what I like about my map the most and I would really miss not having all the factions in it. I even edited map to fit Ubar in it coz they were released when I was still working on the map.
If it's too big for your taste is undertandable. I tried to make this map as small as I could for all faction map and 389 provinces is not unplayable even though I aimed for 350 provinces, I tried some 1000provinces maps, those are truly unplayable after 30turns.
I spent playing this map this weekend for 115turns. Still playable, but the turn time were getting annoying especially because I had really short ones since I was about to lose yet another campaign to AI, mighty difficulty grinds me over time to dust.
The map is also, unfortunately, just basically too big to be fun. AIs will just blob out of control without you being able to interact with them, and then you'll bump into them and the experience will devolve into an endless grind.
It is absolutely gorgeous art and I am in love with it, but it doesn't work IMHO as a game board.
