but spitfire prob no chance. Additionally I dont think there was a float plane version of the spitfire
how did you do that? XD
So I am at a climax to what I can do to this spitfire and I have tried everything at this point if anything a two engine propeller plane will go faster than the spitfire because it has more thrust being produced
And the spitfire does have two gear ratio's that I did take the time to tune properly
Two gearboxes they are both facing the engine (to increase propeller Rps) the first 3:1 and the second 6:5
and the engine can only handle so much because any higher ratio's on the second gearbox will make the engine slow down and overall slow the aircraft right down, decreasing the ratio below 6:5 will make the engine over-rev and wont change the top speed.
2nd option. Do as mentioned but add a xml modded prop on the first one that have 0 blade length.
Should give alot more speed
One last thing the engine will overheat quicker if you put it on high rps or your fuel:air ratio is somewhere around 12.5 or less.
Its much easier to cool a 1x1 engine than a 3x3 or 5x5. I figured that out after several attempts with 5x5 engines, 3x3 I some what struggle with.
My Recommended Engine settings:
- 21 RPS MAX
- A:R ratio around 13.5 to 16.5 (generally i stay at 14.5)
- Belt driven coolant pump
- (don't really need the supercharger)
