yes
There is also an Avro Lancaster I built too (that isnt on the workshop yet)

isn't this the spitfire used in that one recovery mission?

underrated

theres a propeller up down button to the right that changes prop pitch

engines full throtel and on and wont take off?
Bw-chan  [author] 23 Feb, 2022 @ 10:25am
Oh right I did not know that
Bw-chan  [author] 21 Feb, 2022 @ 1:18pm
Ive tried many times to make a helicopter on water
but spitfire prob no chance. Additionally I dont think there was a float plane version of the spitfire
The_Swedish_Berliner 21 Feb, 2022 @ 11:05am
Can you make a floatplane version of this, i tried it myself for about 5 hours but wasn't able to figure it out. You think you could give it a try?
Bw-chan  [author] 9 Feb, 2022 @ 10:19am
not sure how you were meant to fit a bigger engine but ill take the file
Bw-chan  [author] 9 Feb, 2022 @ 10:19am
ok
Jepster 9 Feb, 2022 @ 10:17am
bigger engine, 25 rps, 1 extra invisible propeller i can give you the file
Bw-chan  [author] 9 Feb, 2022 @ 10:14am
You have definitely peaked my interest
Bw-chan  [author] 9 Feb, 2022 @ 9:41am
oh?
how did you do that? XD
Jepster 9 Feb, 2022 @ 9:23am
managed to make a version that does 270 if you are intrested
Bw-chan  [author] 9 Feb, 2022 @ 9:08am
So the only things I can do to make the plane go faster is use a max Rps higher than 21 (which 21 is generally the safest rps to go to and any other doesn't sound the best or just makes the engine hotter) OR have to Air:Fuel ratio around 12.6 which will make the engine overheat faster which will cause a much shorter flight compared to how much the amount fuel stored has to offer.

So I am at a climax to what I can do to this spitfire and I have tried everything at this point if anything a two engine propeller plane will go faster than the spitfire because it has more thrust being produced
Bw-chan  [author] 9 Feb, 2022 @ 9:08am
Well I have used different propellers for the spitfire and its already using a "ROTOR END (LIGHT)" propeller that you have suggested and I could only get it to go 205 kts or 105 m/s mind you this is a single engine aircraft so there will be a limited speed that I can go.

And the spitfire does have two gear ratio's that I did take the time to tune properly
Two gearboxes they are both facing the engine (to increase propeller Rps) the first 3:1 and the second 6:5

and the engine can only handle so much because any higher ratio's on the second gearbox will make the engine slow down and overall slow the aircraft right down, decreasing the ratio below 6:5 will make the engine over-rev and wont change the top speed.
Bw-chan  [author] 9 Feb, 2022 @ 8:33am
I'll give it a go
Bw-chan  [author] 9 Feb, 2022 @ 8:32am
huh
Jepster 8 Feb, 2022 @ 10:27pm
One trick i have picked up regarding speed for piston airplanes is to use light helicopter propeller and have 1-2 gearboxes spinning the propeller faster, then find the highest ratio u can get.

2nd option. Do as mentioned but add a xml modded prop on the first one that have 0 blade length.

Should give alot more speed
Bw-chan  [author] 1 Feb, 2022 @ 9:02am
There are other methods like changing the Air:Fuel ratio but that only made the engine heat up and explode faster
Bw-chan  [author] 1 Feb, 2022 @ 9:01am
I don't think I could of made It any faster with the little space I have with having the body being three blocks wide, and the camera while in the seat isn't the best either (that's generally the games fault, I think)

its a bit slow, and the crosshair is inaccurate while looking at the center dot, i have to look halfway down the hud block for it to line up. everything else is really well done!
idk anymore 17 Dec, 2021 @ 7:25pm
Amazing build. One of my favorite spitfires, and one of my favorite planes.
Bw-chan  [author] 15 Dec, 2021 @ 12:32pm
hope this helps

The key is the pump for the coolant, having it belt driven allows it to pump more fluid around the circuit the same speed that the engine is turning therefore cooling it. An extra tip: make sure your cooling systems are parallel not in series.
One last thing the engine will overheat quicker if you put it on high rps or your fuel:air ratio is somewhere around 12.5 or less.

Its much easier to cool a 1x1 engine than a 3x3 or 5x5. I figured that out after several attempts with 5x5 engines, 3x3 I some what struggle with.

My Recommended Engine settings:
- 21 RPS MAX
- A:R ratio around 13.5 to 16.5 (generally i stay at 14.5)
- Belt driven coolant pump
- (don't really need the supercharger)
Eggnog 15 Dec, 2021 @ 11:24am
Just how did you manage to cool a supercharged 16 cylinder with just one radiator?
Bw-chan  [author] 17 Nov, 2021 @ 12:06am
I might have to make a proper way but that is the only way at the minute
Bw-chan  [author] 17 Nov, 2021 @ 12:05am
In the tail I have two fluid connectors to connect the engine and fuel tank together they are quite hidden
Necrophage 16 Nov, 2021 @ 5:10pm
How do you fuel this thing? I don't see a fuel nozzle anywhere
ploper 14 Nov, 2021 @ 4:58am
is nice

lol

yea kinda forgot to do that :/

Very nice plane, just fyi the gunsight isn't hooked up to a microcontroller so it doesnt work
Noffle 13 Nov, 2021 @ 2:15am
Nice
