If this is still causing issues, maybe try replacing the item's name through Lua instead of editing items.xml? I've done it before with one of my mods, but I don't remember how exactly I did it.

it seems that the only items that have crashed my isaac modlist have been items that chagned their name (before it was sacredn't heart)

I've been trying to find the mod that keeps crashing my game for 1 week and this was literally the last mod I could've ever expected to cause it

Figured it out. You need to update items.xml to include all the new items added in the patch. It's the same reason all the other rename mods are breaking.

No clue. I don't have any modding experience, I just know how to code a bit so I was able to figure out what was going on.

I decided to look into the files you're modifying, and I think I figured out what the issue is. The external item description mod makes its own version of items.xml where all names and descriptions are changed to variables/references to a different file (e.g. name="Jesus Juice" is instead name="#JESUS_JUICE_NAME"). Your version is completely overwriting this, so when the mod tries to fill those slots they don't exist. Also your version of items.xml is out of date and doesn't include any of the ones added in the patch.

I can confirm that this messes with the external item description mod. I tested it out with all the stuff I have installed and specifically this stops it from working. No actual modding experience though so I have no idea how to fix it.

No I checked , I removed all my mods and externalitem still dont work! If it was this mod im externally sorry, and could someone help me fix it because im not an actual modder

unfortunately this interferes with the External Item Descriptions mod, causing external item descriptions to not work :(
