@RocketTheRabbit Its set that way because in its testing it ended up decimating CPU players (and some human players). This was causing the clearing out or crippling of entire empires taking a lot of fun out of the game in general.

I don't know if it's because I'm running some other mods, but Antaran raids only attack starbases and ships, they don't destroy mining stations or bombard planets which is what I expected them to do

The version has been updated. Like my Ancient Systems mod, this one should function completely even if the version is not updated in a timely manner.

@Bear You should be able to right click it to bring up the option to travel there. I'll have to look to be sure but you may need to send a science ship first because the destination is in unknown space.

So I have built and upgraded the portal but there is no option to use it? If I try to use it like a wormhole I just get an "Uniontown destination" popup on mouseover. Am I just being dumb and missing how it works?

Most likely a data merge issue. I disabled this mod because of my small screen size and not using a UI mod (I cannot use the 1440x900 UI mod because my screen only goes up to 1366x768 and the Mega-structures build box UI was to huge, going out of the screen). The UI change might be from another mod though. If when I get to mega-structures and still have the huge UI I will re-add/use this mod (next time). I am still stubbed, just disabled it.

@zalpha there shouldnt be an issue like that. they portal bulding is unlocked via a tech, so it shouldnt be there from the get go. it might be the data merge that caused this.

Does this mod add building a Mega-structures on planets? I had the option at the start of the game to build mega-structures. I have never gotten to that point before so I don't know if it is this mod or another but the build UI box was huge and off screen for me. Also got this text when trying to build the only option there: ant_queen_flag_not_found (or something like that). On one of the buildings options.

I am working on a fix just in case it was a mod that changes the player empire to type to something other than default.

No, mainly just a crap ton of story and event mods. Only thing I can think of that effects country is the extra politcal events and civil wars. Civil wars basically meaning that if a star system is empty long enough a random empire will spawn similar to the original that hates the original.

@frozen dino I finished running a test on the mod. After killing the queen and let the game run for 30 additional years. The raids did not occur once the queen was dead for me. Question are you using a mod that changes your country type? Like playing as a fallen empire?

@Draconas Fixed. Sorry it took so long, i was at work. That map is a test map i use to test multiple mods. i must have used muscle memory and copy pasted it instead of drag and remove. Either way it should no longer an issue.

I think you have accidently committed a change to the large galaxy setup_scenario where you set the size to 50 stars instead of 800!

Oh undoubtedly. I personally didn't enjoy this new style of gameplay, however that takes nothing away from how well-made the mod itself is. :)

Thats the Antarans for you. But all joking aside, the mod itself isnt really about adding tons of gameplay, its about changing the gameplay. They way you would normally do things is probably not going to work with this mod active. As it was it MoO a game with Antarans was played different than a game without. In the end though, the Antarans are not for everyone, and thats ok.

Hm, so I've tried the mod and in theory I liked the idea. In practice, not a huge fan. The fleets themselves are just nuisances, they don't add much gameplay in and of itself. Having them randomly spawn within system is no good (in my opinion), especially when they spawn in the system in which you're building your first fleet of the game. Sets you back years.:steamfacepalm:

@ogdinmar: Plan on adding more Antaran content? It appears the Antaran Damper Field (which reduces incoming damage by a straight percentage) is not doable at this time...

Now, the Antarans were equivalent to a Fallen Empire in terms of tech. Hell, defeating them was one of the win conditions.

I play with very few planets and several mods, idk how much balance guidance I can give you, but with 35k fleets fighting them is similar to fighting the khan or the nanites, so midgame basically, more to go for the queen. I guess ideally you could make them scale in power up until the midgame, it would make sense since they would basically "build up" with whatever they are raiding, but its possible its too complicated, I know nothing of modding.

@m_k95240 Im working on a a balance patch currently that should significantly lower the attack power of the fleets. However, there will be a difficulty submod for those who like it the way it is currently. Also after that patch they should no longer attack enclaves anymore.

As far as the amount of attacks. I was going to go with one system as MoO did, but the significance of a system in MoO vs Stellaris i way different, especially since in Stellaris there hundreds to thousands of system, where MoO had about 80 - 200. But with the lowered base damage of the raids it should be way more manageable.

I added this mod to my current game, i was on tier 3 tech mostly with corvette and destroyer. i think the Antarans are set too powerful for a challenge. Immediately when they started, they destroyed two enclaves, the Artisans, and one of the suppliers. thankfully not the Curators. Two biggest problems, are too many attacks at once. I had multiple systems targeted, and they also target my neighbors at the same time. Also, too many ships. Antarans in MOO usually had a few ships on their raids. it should be possible to beat them back and only their homesystem should be bad news. They even took out one of my border upgraded starbase with a support fleet before i could blink. my main concern is that once i try to build a 'wonder' it takes so long that there is a large chance a raid will interrupt my construction ship, especially since they target multiple systems at once. can you change to smaller fleets and 1 attack at random empire?

@yandros also i meant to ask, how long was too long? As in how far were you tech wise? and how many years went by? So i can make sure when i do some balance adjustments i dont go to far one way or the other.

I think its likely they are not targeting the enclaves themselves but if they happen to be where they spawn within the borders of an empire then its fair game for them.

@Yandros they shouldnt be attacking enclaves. they are scripted to only go after default empires. Ill have to look into that,

As for their strength i am kicking around an idea of toning them down a bit and adding more of their damage bonus to a component on the ship that wont be in the base mod. So if people want more challenge it will be an extra download for more difficulty. but that will take me a bit to make sure it was balanced out right.

I'm a HUGE fan of MoO. Can't wait to try out this mod! Will there be balance settings in the future? I like to play heavily modded playthroughs, so I might need to change their difficulty based on what I have installed.
