World eater by w1nters is probably what you want. It's not a full orb but it works a lot smoother because of it.

is there a more optimized variant of the mod? it seems quite laggy in my experience, able to drop fps to 15 on its own

I have optimized the flat modes by only cutting the edge of the circle/line. This can be toggled off to create an acid pool type of effect. (But theres better mods to do that, like the Acid Pools)

The real issue comes from large objects getting seperated from the world. Like a whole building.

I speculate that because that large building is now one large object with large empty spaces the engine has to traverse a lot of nothing for like, collision checking etc which could cause lag.

How much is this optimized?

The phys gun is probably the closest to that idea. But it doesn't destroy hinges and such.

like being able to rip a door off its hinges. Throwing cars and maybe a slider to choose how strong you want to be.

Repairing is not possible (yet?), because we can't create or modify voxels other than destroying them.

As for only damaging outside the circle, I'll see if I can add a feature to change the size on start.

Is it possible to make something that's the opposite of this? If so i would expect it to not let anything damage whats inside the circle. Or maybe repair things

Set the particle alternate to something massive. Basically every X line of the orb it will create a particle.

If you set it to something high, it will only spawn a particle if it ever reaches that number, and only one line.

The same applies to the destruction alternate.

Lower the tick speed, lower is faster. If you set it to 500, it will grow every 500 seconds.

help mine wont grow i changed almost every setting and i even put the tick speed to 500 it just didnt work

Did you set the Tick speed high? The lower the faster.

So this is basically a customizable World Eater, cool!

Nice! Reminds me of a mix between the gravity hole and the one that creates a giant white circle that east everything over time.
