Okay, figured out my dumb question... But... I've got a Mac... So I can't use this map... :' (
I REALLY wish I could...

So, uh... Dumb question.... Where's the download link for this map...? I really would love to try it out...

I have to agree with louis. I love the idea, but there are several problems with this map. The first is the sheer number of barbarians. We couldn't get started well at all due to the barbarians always swarming us. Another problem that bugs me is all of the mountains creating spefifc choke points. One city can capture a region nearly 1/5th the size of the map. Its a great idea, but it desprately needs improving.

Trying this out at the moment, seems really bare on resources and holy fuck are there are a lot of barb spawns. I wanted to expand quickly, but I was quickly cut short with very few titles containing production, only a couple luxury resources and then being cut of by the ai expansion from expanding to the right side of the map.

could you put up a link for a direct download because for some reason when i download a mod from steam workshop the mod is stuck transferring and i have to manually download the mods

Actually, Macintosh users do have workshop support, it's just that they need to do some tweaking.

Damn, I have some horrible luck then. I used IGE to reveal the world only to see a blanket of red from a good 200? barbarians. Wasn't a problem though because now I've made peace with them :P bit cheaty but there was no way I could've progressed otherwise. Nice map nevertheless, good job!

Sounds like bad luck. I did not set any barbarian encampments, so the ones that appeared were generated normally.
On that note, I wish there was a "less barbarians" options in the advance menu.

Why are there so many barbarians? I was playing on the easiest difficulty and on top of that had IGE active yet they kept coming. If I was playing on normal or hard it would of been impossible to even get to the medievil era; every turn around 5 barbarian units would appear near my capital and another 6 encampments!

Even though I didn't use the map yet, there are multiple ways to get across, such as having yuor army run marathons or using embarktation to have men and others get to other cities. Looks complex!

While the map doesn't interest me, I have to disagree The Great Cornholio. In the early game, troop transports will drastically decrease the time it takes to move your army. Late game, aircraft carriers, nuclear submarines, and missile cruisers will still play an effect on the map. Those will all require escorts, so the navy is still entirely neccessary.

Then again, maybe my bias of being a Navy veteran is kicking in.

Oh, the nostalgia is hitting me hard! I grew up on those games! Was this from the 3rd game? I don't recall 1 and 2 having an over world map... It's been so long, though (late '80s and early '90s was when I played them).

Try placing it in your game files.
Copy the .civ5map file found inside Documents > my games > Sid Meiers Civilization V > MODS > Super Mario World (v. )
And paste it in:
C: > Program Files > Steam > Steamapps > Common > Sid Meiers Civilization V > assets > maps.

map still isnt showing up for me. turned off all my mods and just used this one and couldnt find it? looks fun
