Thank you very much! i have much less free time but with Grimrock 2 out i plan to make more dungeons. Just not sure when!

Okay. So I finished it and will probably play it again and this time it will be with a full party, because that way I will be able to carry more.
But I did enjoy the mod and next time I play it, I will look for more of the secrets and treasure. Found only three... That's not enough.

Also, on level 10, the door. The first one openes with blue gems. But how do I open the second one? Thanks.

You must continue to walk around in the maze. Parts of the floor will open as you move around and you will eventually escape.
Non spoiler version, the sign says it all. keep exploring the floor and you'll get out!

Guess I'm stuck again... I did the "button monsters" and proceeded into a space with a writing on a wall that says sometimes all one needs is a little preservance. I explored but it is basically a close of area with nowhere else to go and I'm a bit lost as to where to go now... Can you tell me what floor I need to concentrate on in order to proceed further? Thanks.

Ah, okay. Heh, that's gonna take a while... Seeing as I'm playing in toorum mode and his weapon is a dagger... I miss the Dismanteler....

Any help on level six in the room with the buttons that spawn monsters and the text that reads something along the lines - sometimes life is easy sometimes it is tough good luck...
What do I do there? Do I have to spawn all the buttons and defeat them? I have no idea...
Any tips would be appreciated. :)

I decided to give your mod one more go, then something very strange happens.
The game now starts on level 11, the room called "The One" with the big guardian golem inside!
This must be some kind of weird bug? I've tried to restart the mod several times but everytime I start in this room on level 11!!!
You can imagine how difficult the game is then, with no armor and level 1 characters.
How can this strange thing happen? I'm sure the game should start on level 1?

Wow, mentioned it in update notes but there was a slight bug preventing the hidden area door from opening. very sorry to those that got so far and were unable to continue.

Yeah, that's all there is to lvl 8. I wanted to do the labrynth as a walk up, find puzzle area, walk back down and couldnt find a good way to plot it in the same area as 8 so i just left 8 as the short mini floor.

I forgot to say that I loved the labyrinth on level 10. Very nice with all the exits to different parts of level 9 :)
Come to think of it, is there not a full level 8? I just passed the level on the stairs down to level 10, and the only place I was on level 8 was a small area that I fell down to from level 7. Is that all there is to level 8 ?

The puzzle would have been much better if you had increased the delay for each grate so that they stay open a little bit longer. The puzzle is clever, and I figured out how it should be done, but I'm just not fast enough and it was very annoying. Otherwise, your dungeon was a great experience, so thanks a lot :)

I understand, you are not (nor will you be the last) person to hate that puzzle. Honestly, i thought it would be an interesting mind game, a little departure from the other run of the mill puzzles. the buttons must be hit quickly and in the right order. but, after a couple tries i realized how hard it is and added in the other route for those that did not wish to finish it. As to the amethyst key, I am afraid I must go to be but i will try and trouble shoot that tomorrow after work.

Why does the Amethyst Key not work on the door on level 11? I saw someone else ask about it in an earlier comment, but he didn't get an answer.
Btw, I really like most of your dungeon, except for a few difficult puzzles. The buttons and grates puzzle on level 7 comes to mind. I don't much like arcade action in a role playing game :(

BIG SPOILER FOR TELEPORTER PUZZLE The teleporter that you cant interact with can be activated by throwing a stone through it. if one doesnt work throw one through on each side. burnt out torches and other items can work as well.

I've tried to hit the buttons quickly and in the right order, but I'm just not fast enough :(
Btw, I've found the way into the big room with all the skeletons by putting torches in all the holders.

To the teleporters (many apologizies, new job so i kind of missed your comments)
Teleporters can be activiated by people and objhects. think on this and which one you have yet to try.

Kenegen, I don't have any good direct advice for you but the buttons have a delay on them that means they must be hit quickly and in the right order. I happen to have hand tested that puzzle at least 15 times so i know it can be beat but i do agree, it is very hard. there is another way through the game though, mabye a little thinking will illuminate your way.

I'm also stuck on level 7, the room where you have to push buttons to open the 6 grates in a specific order. This seems impossilbe! The gates closes far too fast to get the demon head to shoot into the receptable on the opposite wall.
I see the author hasn't answered anything here for some weeks, so I hope someone else can help?

the end is long btw... I defeated the 3 executioners but couldnt find any key... didnt think of the gold key... plz make that 2 an iron key instead... used an half hour on the last... :D

stuck in level 7 in the riddle after the big room with the many skeletons. There is a "teleporter" field that does nothing. any help apreciated.

Damn it. I am stuck again at level 7.

I have uncovered two rooms at the center part; another one opened near the crystal room. After doing four teleporters I am sent back to the levers room and I don't know how to proceed

Level 6 Perseverence: As you move through the labrynth area there are hidden pressure plates. they only open in a specific order and as you move about the place you will step on them, causing hidden walls to open elsewhere. it will give the slight impression that you have found somewhere you don't remember seeing. continue to do this and eventually the way to the exit will open along with a shortcut through the center. Hope that helps!

Just like FLV, I am stuck at level 6, at the perseverance thing. I have opened all iron doors at level 5. I don't know what to do now.

If you killed the uggardian, you need to reload. The only way to open the door(s) is to lure the uggardian to shoot a fireball at the receptacle on the wall. Or shoot a fireball yourself (I cannot because my mage is air specialist).

FLV There are areas that open up as move through that labrynth. Eventually the exit will open.

Help! I discovered and killed everything on Floor 4 and 5 but there're 2 gates that won't open. I think one of them is just for loot, but the other one is next to a "revive-stone". Can i get a little hint?

Magikarp, the answers is the mouth. you can open the door by inserting a gem in the mouth. hope that helps :).

not sure if i hit a bug or not. on floor 10 of the tomb at the very bottom of the map there was a face with red eyes. in that spot when you open the door next to the face there is another face and another door. Since you had to use the blu orbs to open the first door it would make sense to have the next door open with another set of orbs. but both faces will not take any of the other orbs i have (2 blu, 2 red, 2 green). If you look at the face after the first door you'll notice that there are no eye slots. So am i missing something here?

The difficulty is prety good, i have also played LOTS of this game and generally want it harder than most people do. It certinly does not need the 'crypt of horrors treatment' i loaded a lvl 10 party into that and still could not beat the 'challenge room'

Just finished the mod, found 10 of the trophs loots. had a pile of keys left over too which i never found the doors for. Mod could have been a bit harder but i did enjoy it.

Koyangi, you have to get the fire creature to shoot the reciever on the wall. That opens the portcullis with the controls for the snone heads and the door open switch behind it.

Now loading autosave (cause out of desperation) makes it clear. This room is a bug! Killing the fire-demon will give a key, but both doors will keep closed.
