Can you add a diagonally matching variant so that games like Bug House can be played? Otherwise one board needs to have their white and black pieces swapped manually

You could play team chess/Siamese Chess/Bughous (or any other name I've heard it called) with a variant of this. The colors would have to match diagonally, and you'd need two chess clocks. But it's a start.
