Never been a fan of Burning Flames effect, but I like this one. The little curly patterns in the upper flame/smoke part are what sells it for me.

Pink / Blue - good
Yellow / Purple - my favorite
Orange / Green - I don't like it, it clashes horribly IMO

Thank you both! @andros - It actually doesn't, it stays in place without a trail - similar to the nether trail effect.
