The fight IS supposed to be challenging, and its absolutely beatable with vanilla SotC/Impuritas solo builds. If you mean using the pages as a player = broken, I had no intention to nerf them because they're just made to have fun with DH's lil gimmick. They also complement other modded builds, so why not
