A good idea would be a new machine, with just a color swap of the incubator, to return the egg to wild, this way it will not be a 100% free process and require at least some energy, heat, etc.
But it still nice to have what we have here, Thank for this Mod Dr Feel Good
It kept giving errors so i removed the mod, after that it kept giving errors and doesnt allow me to play the game anymore
You need to know this info for your critter:
Reproduction change (happy and no debuffs)
Calory change (Happy and no debuffs)
How many calories can they store.
Then do some math:
[(Current_Calories / Calories_Change_per_Cycle) * Reproduction_Change_per_Cycle] + Current_Reproduction
You need to keep your critters in a ranch with food access until that number reaches between 91 and 99.
Then you need to move the critter to a ranch without food source. Move it back after he laid the wild egg.
While I can see the argument that some animals once domesticated loose some of their wilderness instincts, but given enough time, I imagine the process would eventually reverse to serve their needs to be self reliant.
Heck, I've heard theirs a experiment underway to domesticate foxes, or at least make them less hostile/timid toward humans... Not 100% sure what the end result is for, except SCIENCE!
I have been wanting a mod like this since around launch! When I found out that you couldn't release critters and have them return to the wild, it kinda restricted my gameplay; I'd wait till critters laid an egg before I'd wrangle for ranching.
Reason I started doing that is because something went buggy with one of my designs and all my hatches/pacu were left in a cabinet, turning into raw egg.
With this I can add some critters to my 'Nature Reserves' to make them a little more authentic.
Once again, THANK YOU!
Did you make it so they can lay an egg if starving still?
Overall liking these mechanics. Not sure if this does much to prevent starvation ranching but it's a good change nevertheless.
